by Chad Lakkis on June 27, 2007 at 12:46 pm
The other day I had a dream that I was a kid again, just hanging out watching Sesame Street, everything was great. As the show came to an end The Count said this episode was brought to us by … you guessed it, the letter “e” and the number “3″.
Never before has one letter and one number brought one so much pain to so many, but one company is trying to change all that … Gamecock Media Group presents the E3 Funeral and Wake (celebration) of Originality, 4:20pm Friday the 13th.
Join your friends, colleagues, and unemployed booth babes in mourning, for a final goodbye to the magical beast that was E3, and a wholehearted welcoming for the resurgence of independence, originality, and creativity to come.
Meet at 4:20 at the EIEIO World Headquarters, Hotel California (1670 Ocean Ave, Santa Monica). Marching procession to begin shortly thereafter…
Very special guest eulogies, music, and good times, flavored with Gamecock’s own secret sauce.

“I Believe In A Thing Called Blood”
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no…well actually, there’s a lot to fear in the shadows. Anyone whose had a run in with Jackie Estacado, the protagonist of Starbreeze Studio’s new first person shooter: The Darkness, is all too aware of this fact. And death seems to be the least of Jackie’s troubles. After all, there’s always hell to worry about. Read more…
Master Chief Who? Crysis For The PC, It’s Gonna Be That Good.
by Chad Lakkis on June 23, 2007 at 9:44 pm
Imagine, you hunt down your enemy as he runs rampant through the jungle. How do you find him? In a traditional first person shooter, if you didn’t see him run by you then it won’t be easy.
But what if there was a game that would allow you to see what you could never see before. The moving blades of grass, the branches on the trees swaying from recent contact, and the fresh set of prints in the mud that will ultimately lead you to your prey. It does exist, the engine is CryENGINE 2 and the game is Crysis for the PC.
There there now, you are in the company of friends and there is no shame in crying tears of joy. If it makes you feel better, we will look the other way for a moment. You ready to go on? Great. Read more…

Rockstar Executive Hates Term “Next Gen” and Starbucks Cake…
by Chad Lakkis on June 22, 2007 at 1:27 pm
According to an interview with Gamasutra, Rockstar San Diego Executive, Alan Wasserman was asked what the term “next gen” meant to him, and he had this to say…
“I absolutely hate the term, because it’s a manufactured marketing term. To me, next-gen is any combination of thousands of things that developers pull out of their bag of tricks and mix and match things together to create their own special recipe. If it’s done well, it’s a masterpiece, and that experience is a next-gen experience.” Read more…
The Manhunt Is Over. Sony And Nintendo “Close The Lid” On Manhunt 2.
by Chad Lakkis on June 21, 2007 at 12:58 am
The ever glaring eye that has remained open staring down the eager gamers who stared back anticipating its release for what must have seemed like an eternity, has closed its lid today.
When all was said and done, it took the combined efforts of a political, legal, and media “witch hunt” to finally put an end to a one companies release of a video game “manhunt”. Those same individuals do not understand the amount of sacrifice and dedication it takes to develop a product such as this, and it is likely they never will.
After receiving the dreaded “adults only” rating, both Nintendo and Sony officials decided to “close the lid” on Manhunt 2. Read more…
