King of the Game: Samus vs Master Chief (sneak peek #2)

by Chad Lakkis on July 19, 2007 at 6:01 pm

kog_met_vs_hal.jpg

Our artists are busy working on the King of the Game video game tournament and every once and a while we will give you a sneak peak at a few pages without spoiling the plot and revealing who comes out on top.

Below are two final pages minus the dialog of the battle between Metriod’s Samus Aran and Halo’s Master Chief. The art is by Jonathan Lo.

regardless of the outcome, samus would straight up owned, crush, rape, etc the crap out of master chief. Its not even a fair battle, its so one sided.

I’m not going to lie, I believe that The Master Chief would win this fight. Faster reflexes, stronger, over all speed, fighting knowledge, so on.

Also, what the heck is that Jeep thing doing in the third frame on the first page? I mean, it looks nothing like the worthog. I do like the art style, by the way. =D

  8. Travis Stewart
    on November 9, 2007 1:12 am

117 would definitely win like Matthew said he is going to overall be faster stronger and have more combat experience than Samus
personally I think taking on the covenant is much worse than anything Samus can throw at him.

in response to the blaster short circuit theory. In the game and books he gets nailed my blaster from brutes and multiple other weapons equivalent to light artillery so I think he could take the blaster. and if her blaster is anything like it was in Mario, Master chief will just jump over it and punch her in the face.

In response to the MC supporters: There is no way MC even has a slight chance of even hurting Samus. If you think he is faster and stronger than her, you obviously haven’t played a Metroid game or even looked up any of the story. She has been trained from nearly a baby by the Chozo, the most powerful and advanced raced of beings in the universe. She has also been laced with Chozo and Metroid DNA, making her much faster, stronger, quicker and more intelligent. Metroids can literally drain the life force of any living thing almost instantly and yet she defeated metroid prime! She has also been infused with pure phazon, a substance that emits high radiation, mutates living organizms into much more powerful and uncontainable creatures, and has completely destroyed entire planets. Her varios Chozo suits are rediculous. She can fire temporary black holes from her gun! As for people sayign she’s slow??? Have you seen her hyperdash? She can run at an incredible blinding speed, crushing everything in her path. She is also not a hollow brained experiment like MC. With her inhanced fighting skills, she can also scan MC and the surrounding environment with ehr visors to expose every weakness and every possibility she has of killing him. if you think the covenant is bad…. wow. MC would get killed really quickly by the space pirates, Kraid and Ridley. Mother brain alone would ruin MC. I mean, saying MC can beat Samus is like saying a newborn baby can beat up Bruce Lee. I just don’t get it… Freakin unlogical halo fanboys.

Don’t abnegate my knowledge of the Metroid series, “Garreth”. I have played every single Metroid game other than Metroid Prime Pinball and I have yet to finish Metroid Prime 3 due to insufficient funds. I have also done well enough of my share of research on said series. I have done the same for the Halo series, yet my opinion still stands; That The Master Chief would win the fight. Which leads me to believe that you are being hypocritical by being a fanboy(?), yourself.

Now, if this were a popularity contest, then Samus may win due to the fact that she has been around longer…

  11. Melos
    on December 12, 2007 12:44 pm

Guys =) you forgot the fact… Samus suit should take bullets.. im guessing that’s why the pirates on the game uses pulse (or something beam alike) weapons

btw Matt.. who has trained the longest ;) Chief began whn he whas 7 and samus 4.. she has Chozo blood (if you could read that) and who dies by one Rocket?.. i dont think you can fast reply me on this one so ill tell you myslef… Playin multiplayer halo made me realise that… Cheif is ass raped by a stupid rocket?!?! i said wtf? where the hell is the armor? where the hell is the strength?? WHERE THE HELL IS THE SUPER SPEED EVERY DAMN FANBOY IS TALKING ABOUT???…. So i guess the novels (if there is where they’ve got it from) made a huge lie.. he cant even jump that high as told… atleast Samus doesn’t have as many lies as MC..

another quiz =) Who kills the biggest enemies?

    Chief?
    Samus?

well let me give you a hint.. Compare omega pirate(Metroid) with an elite pirate from Halo.. Who kills the biggest?

    Who is the lonliest?
who takes on Foes one by one without a damn team standing on his or her side?

Who has the greatest (most) health?

And who has his/her own spaceship?( just for fun )

    on December 12, 2007 12:50 pm

Oh hell you mean wich game is the most funniest?

heh i thought who is the winner over a fight

well i might dissapoint some here but halo is actually more fun (if there isn’t a new Metroid game to play) like it actually cuz of the multi player =)

all though i think its abit overrated =/ dont take me wrong but Halo is abit overrated cuz of the action n stuff they are talking about isnt really that big =P but its still ass kicking ^^

    (wonder how metroid would’ve been)

  13. Matthew
    on December 13, 2007 8:27 pm

First off, Halo is overrated. You have that right for sure. It’s still one of the best games I have played in my life, but it’s overrated none-the-less. =P

The reason for The Master Chief’s inability to take much damage in multiplayer is due to, how I see it, both balancing and the enjoyment of the game. If it took more weapons than you could carry in the game to kill a single opponent, that would be a rather boring multiplayer, don’t you agree? What about if all the characters sprinted at 50 miles per hour? All bullets are blocked by his armor? Or the melees, when they hit people, send them flying half way through the map? No, wait. That last one already happens in Halo 3. =P Well, if they could, the game would be far less enjoyable. It would, on single player campaign, be so much easier.

You are correct in assuming that the actual character of The Master Chief’s is shown more acurately in the Halo novels. When he can carry far more than 3 weapons and when he can easily be as stealthy as any half ton suit of armor can be. (Which is, surprisingly, quite a bit)

The Master Chief may not have his own ship, or any vehicle, for that matter, but he has access to just about every weapon and vehicle in the army/navy/government. That and anything that he can find, he can use. Samus may be more solitary, but that has it’s disadvantages.

Fighting larger enemies doesn’t necessarily mean that that person is better at fighting. First off, size means (relatively) nothing in the idea of power. Something huge could very well be worthlessly weak. Like the first boss in many video games. Also, who kills the most enemies? And no, that doesn’t include random animals. =P I do like that about the Metroid series, they have animals, unlike the Halo series. Well, there are birds and fish and I am getting off track.

I would say that The Master Chief has more health. No, I am not including shields. The Master Chief can actually take bullets after his shield has been depleted. Samus just dies when her power goes out. If we are including shields, then it would depend how long The Master Chief would let Samus looks for all her missing energy tanks. =P

By the way, Master Chief trained at 6. Just to randomly clear that up. Also, there is hardly any training a 4 year old girl can do, if you think about it.

The reason that The Master Chief can jump so high, regardless of the half-ton armor, is that the armor simply augments his strength. Also, in the first cutscene on Metroid Prime, when Samus jumps from her space ship, it would be more impressive if it weren’t in space with who knows how little atmosphere. =P

I believe that I have typed far too much. =P

    on December 14, 2007 12:45 am

come on this isn’t king of the book. this is KING OF THE GAME! who cares whats in a book about halo. if you feel you have so little to go off from the actual game and get stuck reciting from a book thats pretty sad. not sure what he does in halo 3 but in 2 cheif only has sheild aswell? unless you count the one or two hits he takes with the flashing danger shield.

you can’t say size doesn’t matter then go on to say that chief could take more damage than samus without shields they are both sh*thouse

smaus was infused with the bllod of a chozo warrior so shes part human part chozo, which are extremely quick and intellectual (i didn’t know she trained at four but there you go :P chozo blood helps)

just on a side note that would be awesome if you actually had epic fights that lasted a long time in multiplayer, if he’s actually that strong why don’t they show it in the game where for this tournament it actually counts??

also you notice samus doesn’t fly away when she’s walking and when she hits the ground theres a reasonably loud thud along with the fact of the speed she falls and that the boosters on her back go off as she jumps i’d say that the gravity in that area must be normal from something to do with magnets in the ground or her feet or something. duh its not supposed to be oh i can jump really high its just a grand opening. swould you have her just crawl like a baby to the end of the ship a slide off (shes trying to oppose the demograhpic of a normal lady here not act like some little girl out of a japanese anime. or would you prefer she landed inside jumped really high in there (whoah! spectacualar cus its inside!) and hit her head lol

your just trying to finds flaws in things that don’t matter (i can’t believe im actually wasting time with this…) its never gonna be finished anyways :P

    Matthew

well you did shut my mouth there abit..

but mole man is actually abit correct about this… She does have something on her back that might lift her up off her heavy armor (since you’re calling chiefs armor heavy) i aint saying that chiefs armor is feather light (it would be awesome if it whas) but they both have heavy stuff on em.. lets sey they are farily rated with character but not with power.. Hmm i think we’re about to start a fight wich i hope wont happen. Well i still have to stand at Samus side on this one.. They’ve made chief’s game’s pretty fair as you said =) that is what makes them fun. A challange but in Metroid (when i learned the controls n stuff) it whas pretty much a walk in teh park. Well on hard mode it took abit time until i got past that damn invisible turret but i got it in the end.. Echoes is a pain in the ass if you’ve never played echoes before (and especially if you’re a new one to MP) but after i’ve beaten the bosses once… same story.. walk in the park =D.. But it whas a slight challange on hard mode. some foes (not bosses) almost killed me once ^^ (i think they’ve made the games like that so the player would’nt die too often.. cuz if you did and you havent saved for long BAM ass-raped… you’re far far away from where you where) but in MP3 they’ve finally got checkpoints xD.. btw did you know that Retro studios is/whas a rookie company? they are still searching for workers that might help them with modeling n stuff (if you check thier website) and the Chozo blood might actually give the reason for a 4 yr old girl beggining training at that age…

btw.. you didnt type too much at all =) look at us for an example

  16. Melos
    on December 15, 2007 6:20 pm

    AND ONE MORE THING!

Excuse me for the text that it became abit like “random info” and yes i might thank you for correcting chiefs age of training ^^ i do think that’s awesome.. but since these Samus vs MC fights started it makes the games less fun to play.. oh my god i hate the one that said What if samus n chief fought.. i wouldäve said What if the dude from crysis and Chief fought =) dont know how unfair/fair it would be but he does have that thing that says “maximum strength/speed” and the stealth thingy =P and the guy from timeshift does actually look like samus (with the visor) abut =/ that’s my opinion =)

  17. M4L1C3
    on December 20, 2007 1:11 pm

forget it all, they should both just drop the armor and make babies, then you have super chozo master soldier infants that can train from the age of two… muah haw haw haw

    wow this is great.

  19. Matthew
    on December 29, 2007 8:57 pm

Sorry for the delay. Had things to do and so on. =)

Moleman first; This is about the characters of the games, not the games themselves, correct? If it were King of the Game, then the Halo series would be far out numbered. =P I find it understandable to use the character’s back story as their character.

As for the size argument, I’ll a simple example; take some huge random fat guy that has never worked out a day in his life and pin him up against a fit regular sized man. Sure, the larger man has more weight hindering his attacks, and could very well have much less power than the regular man’s attacks.

Now, on to the Chozo blood idea. I’ll use another example for this one. Say you take a human and inject some pig blood into said human. First off, there is a huge chance that the body would downright refuse the blood from the start, but let’s say it didn’t for the sake of this subject. So now that the human has pig blood, does it make the human more like a pig? No. All the blood is used for is bringing oxygen to the muscles. So let’s say that the Chozo blood is very efficient bringing a lot oxygen to where it needs to go. However, the use of that oxygen would do little difference; the muscles are still human and still have the restraints of human muscles. All having efficient oxygen carrying blood would do is make it so that there is extra oxygen in your blood stream.

I would find the game rather annoying to play if each and every fight lasted forever, and odds are, most other people would too. The Halo series multiplayer has always been about quick, adrenaline induced skirmishes that last only a matter of seconds. The game could get old really quick otherwise.

“your just trying to finds flaws in things that don’t matter (i can’t believe im actually wasting time with this…)”
I’m trying to find flaws in things that others have based their ‘facts’ on. And believe me, the beginning cut scene jump has been brought up in many of the debates I have been in. If you have better things to be doing, then what is keeping you replying? =P

Now that that’s over with, time to go to Melos. It’s true, both of their armor seem to be quite heavy. However, I am not sure how heavy Samus’s armor really is. If anyone knows for sure and can back it up, it would be much appreciated. Yeah, the rocket booster things on her back would help, I would imagine.

I love both characters as characters, to be sure and I really would have liked saving a lot of time from these debates if that guy never opened his mouth. =P But, it was going to happen sooner or later, as just about all characters are compared with each other.

And I must say, I really enjoy debating with people who keep their heads clear and unbiased. You, Melos, are just about the closest I have gotten to one of those types of people in the many The Master Chief vs. Samus debates I have been in. And I thank you for that. ^^

  20. SAC Attack
    on January 11, 2008 7:55 pm

Sorry Cheif fans but Faster? Samus has speed in her ‘rollerball of doom’ and ‘Screw Attack’ that I have never seen Cheifcakes match in game. Stronger? About even there really despite samus being a girl her suit is more advanced from a further future realm. Combat Experience? Samus has been doing this since 8-bit baby. 20+ Years kids. Samus fights towering nasty space pirates. Cheif fought a talking plant… need I go on?

  21. Melos
    on January 13, 2008 8:10 am

    Matthew

SO you say that samus enemies are fat and not trained… Sigh.. those fucks have lot o bigger muscles ye know.. and more agile “except for the biggies” but ridley is somewhat an agile bastard.. and about the chozo blood, not did they only infuse that but they gave her also implants so she can contol her suit as if it was’nt on.. The same with chief.. hes a cyborg if im correct(from the waist down aye?) so if you removed that part and you’d run around without it then you might say it’ll be a big imobility. Plus what is Chief? a might spartan right? a respected man! a powerful one. A human aswell.. But Samus is more than a spartan.. She is the protector of the Galaxy… i mean as i said before i would’nt run around protecting it with chiefs armor. Just face it.. these two are totally different.. Samus is superior and chief is inferior simple as that… And sometimes halo fans keep adding up shit on chief that i’ve never seen on the games before… So why bother doing that? And people say that samus lacks agility guile and strength… and chief kills her with one punch? Sure lets say that.. lets compare oki?

Chief punches= a third of what omega pirate can slash with his claws

chief getting run over by car and dieing= its like when Emperor Ing Rushes into you.. should be the same since he must weight more than a warthog

Chief slices with his Sword=Flagghra Slices Samus with his blades

and she survives all that… why wont chief do it when someone hits him with either the sword or a gun(melee) or even a warthog kills him.. cmon man stop comparing to a Lonewolf that’s tons better.. they arent compareable.. it should be chief vs the guy from Crysis.. now that should do it

    now who fights alone?

samus fights alone like 98% (the two left are that she gets a group in MP3.. though they turn against her later)

and chief fights alone like 67%
since he needs a team that backs him up all the time=/

dont know what’s wrong with me today

  23. Melos
    on January 13, 2008 8:17 am

But one more thing.. The Halo games are actually somewhat challangeble wich makes em fun ^^ the metroid games are challanging aswell if you dont know the controls.. but after that it’s quite easy.. and sometimes frustrating =/ The frustration comes from that if you have’nt saved for like 4 hours.. You’ll return to the latest save point you have saved.. no Checkpoints.. though they’ve added that in MP3C. Buuut you do also lose health so it’ll eventually make you go to a save spot. But it could still be disturbing.. (if you die from bosses)

  24. Melos
    on January 13, 2008 8:20 am

Let me just clear up the blood thingie.. She gets the blood wich makes her half chozo (yeah i know it’s like they’ve cheated on her mother/father) but it boostes her reflexes, muscles, agility, sense and guile.. otherwise she would’ve been a normal human like Chief.

  25. moleman
    on January 14, 2008 12:34 am

yeah and with that this is a futuristic alien species blood infusion. pigs are used because they have similar gentetics i think? something similar with people anyway, but this is some crazy alien species which god knows might do to her (i don’t believe in god though). we know it couldn’t happen but hey its a game…

have to say aswell though calling samus protector of the galaxy and not tagging cheif as one aswell? i’d have to give him that title (even though i stand by samus) he’s ONE of the defenders of the galaxy, what with the arbiter and all chiefs little friends. played 1,2 and half of 3 but what he’s done would constitute being a galaxy protector…

samus is still a bounty hunter, everyone knows she gets pulled into things and ends up saving the day but im not sure if she ever means to purposefully go out of her way to save the galaxy, she’s crash landed, she’s been assigned for recon and stuff then she ends up saving the planet because she’s there anyway. i guess thats same as chief though kinda…

also, why is retro studios a rookie company? because they are looking for a modeller or something?

  26. Melos
    on January 14, 2008 1:04 pm

Yeah i guess that chief deserves that title too… I mean he is awesome as hell.. and continueing talking like this makes the games more fun ^^ and about the rookie company thingie.. they where a rookie company but ofc they are’nt anymore :) (though they have’nt removed the job offer yet http://www.retrostudios.com) Funny.. Samus has also destroyed planets… that kind’a turns her title around =/ but Chief has’nt either saved any.. or i dont really know he could’ve saved lots o stuff =S im not sure. Please would you care to explain what he has done =) Would really like that ya know =P

oh yaeh and did ya know that Chief was/is called the Demon?

btw Bungie was also a rookie company ;D

  27. Anonymous
    on January 14, 2008 8:10 pm

Sorry Halo fans, but I must side with Samus on this one.

He has, as pointed out, far less armor than Samus. And I don’t believe he has immunity to Phazon missiles. Master Chief brings up a Bubble Shield? Samus rolls in in Morph Ball form and uses a Power Bomb. Master Chief can use stealth effeciently? Enter the X-ray/Thermal visor.

Seriously people, MC would lose. Badly.

  28. moleman
    on January 15, 2008 10:17 am

you’re jokin right? :P just stopping the rings (the whole point of the halo games) has saved the galaxy or universe or whatever, i mean he hasen’t done it by himself but without him it wouldn’t of worked, haven’t fully played 3 yet but i assume he saves the galaxy or universe again lol. have you played the halo games?

chief is only called the demon by the aliens whats their name i dunno but also if you read the scanners in the pirate base in echoes they call samus the hunter clad in metal or something like that, so to them they all are scared of her aswell. so its sorta like the same thing…

also know nothing of megaman in relation to your comment on the main forum

    cheers

  29. Melos
    on January 15, 2008 4:26 pm

    moleman

Yeah that was kind’a my point :o(just tried to make it somehow so the Halo fans would’nt thorw fieces on me)

and the thing about turning the title around was just a joke ^^everything i wrote up there was more of jokes.. So you might’ve gotten it all wrong m8 =)

Yes Samus is called hunter clad in metal or something… And did’nt you read that her name is used as a curse ^^? so i guess she has quite a big respect amongst em =)

and i said the demon part to make some halo fans abit happy =/ cuz.. here it seems to be Halo fans supporting metroid but no metroid fans supporting Halo.. so i kind’a tried to make myself neutral somehow =)

I could’ve said lots of stuff and make a huge comment.. But that is abit frustrating to read ^^. So i whent neutral for a sec.. but if you’d like me to return to Samus then just give me a nudge ^^

  30. moleman
    on January 16, 2008 8:37 am

im a fan of both games but as we know the winner would be samus hands down, with everything she’s got going for her. i’ve looked at this from a balanced view (i don’t give a damn about no halo books or what it says chiefs done in them im just goin off what they do in their games and the winner is obvious.

good work with the jokes but on the screen it looks like your serious lol

so over this thing i need to find out what actually happens, even though if chief wins theres obviously somethin wrong :P

master cheif is better because his not only has books about him but also has a more rich storyline. and the reason he can’t take swords the way samus does his because the stories and games his in actually try to make it real and make it look like real life thing. not stuff you would thats been around since who knows when

  35. moleman
    on January 21, 2008 9:11 am

rich storyline? not that it matters but chiefs storyy invloves humans, aliens, and the parasite. the humans are trying to stop halo and the aliens are trying to start it. the flood just gets in the way and acts like a bitch

1st game: stop halo, stop the flood
2nd game: stop halo, stop the flood
3rd game: stop halo, stop the flood? wait did i already say that?

you want story look at metroid prime as the name suggests the focus of the game invloves the mystery of the metroids and the space pirates attempting to understand how they drain the pure energy from their targets. well thats the basic one. but each game has its own unique storyline(well except i think for metroid zero and super metroid). (and theres not just three of them)

Super Metroid: investigate planet zebes to find and capture the “metroid lava”
ZERO Mission: something liek above :P but save chozo?? i dunno
Metroid Fusion: the suit! obviously the whole story is about stopping the spread of the virus thingy and your clone
Metroid Prime: pretty much stop the space pirates, kill creature inside the crater?
Metroid Prime 2: stop the ing, save planet, get your stolen gear back, attempt to kill dark samus
    Metroid prime 3: can’t say i’ve played it…

anyways, youve got the space pirates, the metroids, the ing, the chozo, the fusion virus, dark samus (phazon induced creatures aswell) and whats halo got, somebody tell me!!!

it does story line because unlike samus MC has stories in books that make you understand the games better. it not alway stop halo stop the flood there a lot of things on the way. to doing so. halo is also a much better game because you fight things that are more advanced in technology and weapons.

    My last comment is still awaiting moderation. ;_;

Yeah, fan boys really get on my nerves. It’s a shame that the Halo Fan base is so… Lacking in reasoning skills. (Or at least the ones that are on the internet) Either that or they like it so much they can’t stand anyone else doing otherwise. Although, this goes to just about any game in existence.

hmmm have to agree with midnight monkey on that. fighting more advanced enemy is fun on halo. id like to see a metroid patch on a halo game. you could make the enemies stronger and still kick butt with samus, how cool would that be!! screw attacking power bombing and everything around the halo world. no need for vehicles, just boost ball over a crevass, that’d be spick.

just thinking also, if i imagine chief goin through metroid he’d do okay till halfway through the game in toras bog against the two legged dinosaur things and the moth boss, actually most big bosses would kill him in one hit. also i don’t think his suit wold resist the air of dark aether…

wow i’ve never been sucked in to anything like this before, but here we go

samus and cheif are pretty descently matched, except samus has all her guns on her already, cheif needs to use guns and ammo that he just randomly finds,

the halo games don’t do a good job of portraying cheif’s actual skills that he’s supposed to have in order to make the game more challenging, so he got downgraded a bit for gameplay

i personnally love chief more than samus, but with all due respect samus takes the cheese due to agileness, unless a pelican drops by and drops off a scorpion tank ;)

    Let’s break this down:

Mobility: Samus’ suit is bulky and restricts movement, but it enhances speed, from her plain old strafing dash (Metroid Prime) to the hyperdash (Super Metroid). She also has the Space Jump and Screw Attack, which would keep her airborne, not to mention the Screw Attack transforming her into a mobile sphere of pure energy. Then there’s the Morph Ball, and its various techniques. Master Chief’s armor enhances his physical attributes, but lacks the bells and whistles of Samus’ Varia Suit. Advantage: Samus.

Weapons: Samus can carry at least four different Beam types, aside from her standard Power Beam. Her beams don’t require ammo, with the exception of the Light and Dark beams–for convenience’s sake, let’s say she’s got her MP1 armaments. Then there’s her missile launcher, which has a nice, healthy stock of up to 250, and her beam/missile combos (Super Missile, anyone?). Then there’s her Morph Ball bombs, power bombs, and the Boost Ball, which could be used as a weapon (against Quadraxis, for example). For Master Chief, anything that can be a weapon, is a weapon; the only problem is that there might not be enough ammunition to hold him over. Advantage: Samus.

Experience: Master Chief is quite a bit older than Samus, and has a wealth of combat experience. He’s an accomplished leader and a great strategist. Samus’ experience as a hunter is substantial, but she lacks the decades of field experience that the Master Chief has, as well as his tactical expertise. Advantage: Master Chief.

Overall: A close fight, but Samus wins, overwhelming Master Chief in the end.

    on February 20, 2008 7:21 am

okay alex i see your a fan of both games but it seems you know samus is the outright winner but you also don’t want cheif fans to get all whingy on you (as they do :P) for the first point samus’s suit isn’t bulky its made specifically for her, and all joints use expandable thingies (im too tired and its too late to get technical:P) so she’s got no disadvantage in movement.i’ve got no idea how old samus is but i’d put her at late twenties/early thirties, and she’s been training since she was… 5? somebody further up there ^^^ said the age anyways. so she’s trained with the chozo from a young age, she has chozo blood in her and she’s also faced many the mission from what i can tell of the games with many different enemies, and stopping the space pirates on many the occasion. (all those giant bosses too. chief has fough ’some’ big stuff though but not that big, maybe the scarab to kraid) so anyways gettin off the point no loss of experience either.

also im sure samus would have some tactical expertise (she’s probably not an idiot , thats just the person playing), chief isn’t the only battle hardened warrior in this competition.

  48. Alex
    on February 20, 2008 7:42 pm

Oh, she’s brilliant, I’m not saying she’s dumb, or not battle-hardened. She just doesn’t have the decades of actual field experience that Master Chief does. She’s got experience, but he just has more. Just like Samus has most of what Master Chief has, and then some.

Honestly, the only edge I can think of that Master Chief could have is Cortana. Having a superintelligent AI in your head would no doubt work to his advantage. Then again, Samus can interface with her ship–and, again, visors provide tactical information.

I think that it’ll all come down to what weapons and vehicle MC starts out with, obviously he’ll have all his grenades but if he comes out with a plasma pistol and charge shots Samus, shouldn’t that technically disable her for like a few seconds?

It takes more than a few seconds to take down 15 layers of shielding. Plus, Samus has the Wavebuster.

Anonymous said pretty much my words =/

I mean I’ve learned to like chief… (though i hate them hating the Arbiter insead of the chief -.- why aiming at me!! he’s the hero not me!)
Oh well.. Chief fans =) Some of you say chief is Agile guile and strong etc. But What makes you say samus isn’t ^.- Okay I’ve seen cheif like punchin enemy vehicles do death xD i mean taht made me laugh as a sinister man. But Chief in halo 3 has been weakened xS… Why? well He has only a shield.. not health like in the first halo… So blame bungie there =/ They made him weaker -.-

    on February 28, 2008 1:19 pm

Okay, for Samus it’s one girl against the hole galaxy! For chief? no it’s one elite (Arbiter) Against the hole galaxy… WHy? welll ” KILL THE TRAITOR!!” I mean I’m not the Halo pro! my friend here! kill him kill him not me!! Oh look here i have a greanade :D hmm where to throw where to throw… ahh on that (Dunno what they’re called) wierd things head (some hard mobs i think) Oh well, but if Samus is against the hole galaxy would she wear chief’s suit?.. Well if she had no choise =)

But I know something that might buff em abit fair

Put em both in thier non-upgraded gear.. some peeps think that might be a fair fight..

  53. Melos555
    on February 28, 2008 1:47 pm

And one more things for the Halo fans.. Some halo fans don’t even bother to play Metroid.. I mean i play the halo games as you’ve noticed… Btw Chief’s super weapon here accoring to you loving halo fans is a plasma rifle =P right?
It’s energy if im correct? So energy can brake down Shields according to you guys? If so ^^ then I do wish the best of luck to chief because.. All Samus weapons are Energy.. Pure power energy, electric energy, Icy energy, Fiery energy.

The dark and light beams are just copies.. and I don’t think they should count

ANd in Metroid Prime Corruption she mixes energy.. I mean that would like make an imba gun! a gun overwhelmed with power! I mean Chief lacks Stamina (Show’s clearly in halo 3.. Blame bungie) So if his shield is a gonner he is a gonner.. Oh wait! OVER SHIELD! hmm =) nice one…. still she’ll brake it down eventually! But wait! Cloak! THAT HE STOLE FROM PIRATES (and they call arbiter bad -.-) Aww shiet :S i noticed that she has a thermal visor… Heat seeker that is for the one’s that are unsure =)
Hmm Gravity hammer!! But wait once more.. Are’nt like pirate’s huge like hell like pounding on her like hell? If she survives that then she must survive the gravity hammer =/ (The Gravhammer is imba ano!! but it’s more of a Sheegot punch.. the grown one not the baby)

So atm she does overwhelm him… But if they’re stripped of thier equipment then that would be abit more fair =)

    on March 2, 2008 12:21 am

stripped of everything and bare minimum (besides suits of course) that would be samus with the power beam and cheif would have to take pistol i’d say, cus the power beam can’t really rapid fire and that that would be as even as you’d get it, add their weapons and maybe chief could win (with either of their best weapons at that level they could wipe each other out), but add the rest of the stuff they get oops i mean samus, cus chief gets nothin after weapons and samus smashes him, you could run out into the open and just blast chief whilst he’s firing shit at you and throwin grendaes and you’d still kill him and have enough energy for another chief

also sorry melos but that comment at 1:19 made absolutely no sense to me :P

Hmmm well it’s all been very well talked about and people have discussed a lot and from what has been said it seems that she would beat master chief…but you forgot one thing…I’ll let this oh so annoying halo voice over do the talking *Halo voice comes over speakers* Assassinated. shortly after due to the great deal of items/weapons/ammunitions master chief walks around with, a plasma grenade accidentally activates itself and sticks to his foot. I’am a fan of halo metriod prime is okay and all but master chief would win. Samus would get slaughtered oh and the guy who said that in all 3 halo games you had to do the same thing your dead wrong. here it is

1st game: stop halo and get off halo and escape the flood.

2nd game: find the index and get off delta halo and head to earth.

3rd game: stop the prophet of truth from activating halo and kill him. and you must find cortana AND wipe out the flood.

In Metroid, it takes knowledge. In halo, it takes skill. Even though I am a halo fan,in a battle between Samus and Master Chief, MC would lose. I’m not saying he sucks, and i’m not saying Samus completely owns. But look at the creators of MC and Samus. Nintendo made Samus ultra strong, along with many upgrades, suits, higher health, etc. Bungie made Master Chief not with fancy shmancy armor and upgrades, but more realistic.

Halo 1: Find giant ringworld, halo. Defeat aliens. Find oracle. Get index. Fight flood. Escape. Destroy halo!

Halo 2: Start on space station. Save it. Go to Earth. Slipspace rupture to Delta Halo. Defeat Prophet of Regret. Transport to High Charity. Kill Flood. Go to Ark and Escape back to Earth.

Halo 3: Jump 2 kilometres off the Ark onto hard ground and survives without A SINGLE bruise. Fight aliens. Flood on Earth. Fight flood. Slipspace jump to Installation 00. Go through desert & the Ark. Defeat Covenant once and for all. go to crashed flood infested destroyed High Charity. Go to halo. Destroy and escape. float endless days in a destroyed ship.

Metroid Prime: Do something. Run around killing space pirates and bosses and whatnot. Bleh bleh.

youre missing a lot of the Metroid Prime storyline there…

Metroid Prime 1: Receive a distress call from an abandoned pirate frigate. Follow Ridley to Tallon IV. Explore each section to unravel the mystery of the meteor that had crashed there while fighting Space Pirates. Destroy the Metroid Prime.

Metroid Prime 2: Investigate the Federation Landing Site. Meet the Luminoth. Get energy from Dark Agon Temple and bring it to the Great Temple. Get energy from Dark Torvus Temple and bring it to the Great Temple. Get energy from Dark Sanctuary Temple and return it to the Great Temple. Find the Twelve Keys (don’t remember if its actually twelve). Go to the Sky Temple and defeat Dark Samus and the Emperor Ing. All the while, fight Dark Samus and the Space Pirates.

Metroid Prime 3: Flee the GFS Olympus. Save Norion. Destroy the Bryyo seed. Destroy the Elysia seed. Defeat the Space Pirates at the Pirate Homeworld. Explore the GFS Valhalla. Destroy Dark Samus and Phazon on Phaaze.

Yeh, I said that before. Nintendo overdid samus abit since she’s a female, trying to give her some respect in the gaming era, making her a wierd amazonic female (190cm length 90kg weight w/o suit)

So.. Nintendo’s childy thoughts there =) But the games are fun ^^ try em.. If you like puzzles blended with amazing enviroments and beutiful nature (or more like pretty nature)

    MC
    Childhood and Spartan Training

When he was a child, John-117 lived in Elysium City, on Eridanus II. John-117 is said to have had brown hair, freckles, and a small gap between his front teeth. At the age of six, he was identified by Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey as one of 150 preliminary candidates, for the SPARTAN-II program. John was an ideal physical candidate, standing a head taller than his schoolmates, having perfect physical proportions, possesing great strength and exhibiting quick reflexes. His genetic structure also stood up to Dr. Halsey’s rigorous requirements. When Dr. Halsey and Lieutenant Jacob Keyes visited Eridanus II to study him, they were impressed with his intellect and more importantly, his luck. In a final test of his viability as a candidate, he was asked to determine which side an old coin would land on. He watched the coin as it flew in the air and caught it before it could land. Dr. Halsey believed that he either 1) Saw what side it landed on and called out that side, or 2) He picked what side he wanted.[2] John and 74 other six-year-olds were “conscripted” — covertly kidnapped from their homes without their own or parents’ consent or notice — and replaced with Flash Clones which later died of natural causes. In this way, the parents would never know that their real children had been kidnapped. Any who were enrolled in the SPARTAN program were never able to communicate with their old parents.[3]

John was renamed John-117 and began a new life that eliminated all aspects of civilian life. The Spartans trained under Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez for eight years, receiving tutelage in history and military strategy as well as weapons and physical fitness training. He bonded early with Kelly and Sam, who would be the only close friends he would ever have. Sam’s untimely death in 2525 at the hands of the Covenant affected John profoundly.

When the Spartans were eight years old, they went on a training mission in which they were dropped over a forest located deep in some snow-capped mountains and expected to get safely to their extraction Pelican. The children also had instructions to leave the last child arriving behind, or the punishment would be painful. But John-117 knew that he could not do that. This made him the leader he is now. When the group came upon the Pelican, it was guarded by armed men. Those men were actually UNSC soldiers, but were not in uniform, and in addition to the fact that the Spartans may have never seen Marines before, therefore mistaken for a hostile threat. John showed early acumen in critical thinking and tactics, not wishing to take it for granted that guards would be friendly toward the children. He came up with a plan to take the men down, capture the dropship, and ensure the safe extraction of every team member, as he made sure he was the last person aboard. To do this he ended up hijacking a UNSC dropship with the help of Déjà, and beat down the men with stones and many feet, causing severe injuries among the Marines, and even death. Chief Mendez was not pleased, as one, John attacked his Marines, and two, no one had been left behind. But Dr Halsey recognized his initiative, and promoted him to Squad Leader of the Spartans.

At the age of 14, John underwent the dangerous and painful process of augmentation that caused most of the Spartans to die, or physically disabled. John-117 was one of 33 Spartans who made it through the process unscathed, while the rest who could still operate were sent for jobs in the Office of Naval Intelligence. When John was only 14 years old, he is also said to have a body of an 18 year old Olympic athlete.

ohn-117’s first mission was against rebels in the asteroid belt of the Eridanus System, where his home world was located. He was slightly wounded by live ammo while leading his squad to capture rebel leader Colonel Robert Watts, without heavily injuring him. He received a Purple Heart after this mission.[4]

Shortly after that, he and his Spartans would fight the Covenant for the next 27 years, employing the MJOLNIR Mark IV armor. John’s first battle against the Covenant was just after they received the Mark IV armor. The Spartans launched with thrusters from a Pelican dropship. Each Spartan carried an Anvil missile with them to destroy a Covenant ship. Only two other Spartans made it to the ship with John, and entered through a hole in its hull, which was put there by a MAC round. These Spartans were Samuel-034 and Kelly-087. They succeeded the mission and blew up the Covenant ship, but lost Sam in the process due to a breach in his suit so he could not go back into vacuum. This first UNSC victory against the Covenant showed John that the Covenant could be beaten, but at a high cost, which was his friend’s life.

John served in over 200 missions against the Covenant, including the Battle of Jericho VII and the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, in which he detonated a nuclear bomb to clear all of the enemy forces from the planet. This was one of only a few UNSC victories. A data crystal was discovered during this mission which contained coordinates of Installation 04 and led up to the events on Alpha Halo. He also received every medal except for the POW (Prisoner of War) medal. He is also considered the luckiest and the bravest of the Spartans.

The Battle of Reach, though brief, was of great significance for John. The majority of the Spartans went to the planet’s surface to protect MAC generators. John, with Linda and James, was sent to a docking station to protect an unsecured NAV database. If the Covenant obtained it they would find out the location of Earth, which was still a closely guarded secret, and one of the few they had left from the Covenant. John was successful, but at a great cost. Linda and James were ambushed by Covenant Elites and both died. John saved four other Marines including Staff Sergeant Avery Johnson. The team returned to the Pillar of Autumn and was placed into cryo sleep as the ship fled Reach and went into Slipspace in hopes of leading the Covenant away from Earth.

    Samus Aran

uch of Samus’ life and history is a mystery. She was living with her parents, Rodney Aran and Virginia Aran, on the Earth colony K-2L; they died, however, in a Space Pirate attack on the colony, while Samus was three years old. She was the sole survivor of the raid. Eventually, a group of Chozo found her alone and stranded on the destroyed colony. A chozo who appears to be of great importance decided to take Samus. They brought her to their planet, Zebes, and raised her with Chozo influence. She was infused with Chozo blood[5], and later given the powerful Power Suit, built entirely out of Chozo technology. She proceeded to leave the planet and eventually became a Bounty Hunter.

After becoming the most famed and capable of all Bounty Hunters, succeeding in missions everyone considered impossible, Samus was summoned by the Galactic Federation and given the orders to infiltrate Zebes, the planet she grew up on. Apparently, Space Pirates had overrun the world. She had two objectives:

    1. Eliminate the threat of the Metroids, a newly discovered species which the Space Pirates were using for evil purposes, and
    2. Destroy Mother Brain — the “mechanical life form” or “life vein” and central computer of Zebes’ ecosystem, which had become the leader of the Space Pirates. According to the manga, Mother Brain once served the Chozo but betrayed them to serve the Pirates as part of its own plans.

Samus successfully carried out the mission. This would bind her to this duty as she is often called upon to combat this threat. Afterward, Samus discovered a distress call and upon investigation discovered the source to be the Space Pirate Frigate Orpheon on which the pirates were studying Phazon, a highly radioactive material that can mutate lifeforms and has an ability to reproduce itself. Due to escalating events onboard the ship, thanks to Samus, it impacted into Tallon IV’s surface. Samus saw and pursued Meta Ridley, a winged dragon-like monster she had defeated on Zebes, was now rebuilt through the best Space Pirate technology, to the surface of the planet. On Tallon IV she found that the planet had been corrupted by Phazon when a meteor had struck it twenty years earlier. Samus found Chozo lore and ruins on the planet which told of how the meteor hit the planet and brought an evil creature with it, to which they referred to as “The Worm”. The Space Pirates landed on the planet, and quickly built up facilities to mine the highly valuable, and dangerous Phazon, but years earlier, most of the Chozo population had died off due to Phazon poisoning (the survivors fled to an unknown destination). Interestingly, the Chozo lore foretold a “hatchling” would save the planet, with descriptions strongly resembling Samus. Along the way, she discovered through Chozo Lore that an “Evil Entity” had been sealed off in the Phazon meteor impact crater by a series of Chozo Artifacts. Samus found a Space Pirate mining colony on the planet, mining for Phazon to use for experiments on themselves and Metroids to create an unstoppable military force. She halted all Phazon production, but inadvertently acquired an abnormal suit upgrade that allowed her to safely come into contact with phazon, and bolstered her arm cannon with extreme levels of power when in direct contact with pure Phazon – This suit upgrade turned her suit to shades of Black and Crimson (the Phazon Suit). Samus ultimately sought to investigate what was sealed off inside of the impact crater, so she found and collected all of the 12 Chozo Artifacts necessary to break the seal. However, when she approached the seal, Meta Ridley confronted her – he had swooped in and destroyed the portal that lead to the Impact Crater. Samus weakened Meta Ridley and the Chozo Ghosts united and drew their powers together to create a powerful beam that knocked Meta Ridley off of the Temple Grounds and into his “death”. She then found the source of all evil that came within the meteor — Metroid Prime, a mutated Metroid and living off Phazon. Samus destroyed Metroid Prime, which left the Chozo Temple on the verge of destruction, but just before its death it reached out, grabbed Samus and it absorbed her Phazon Suit. This lead to the birth of Samus’ greatest enemy, Dark Samus. Born of Phazon, this new being craved the substance with an avarice intensity, and would do anything to get its hands on it.

Some time after, Samus finds out that the Galactic Federation received a telepathic message from the Tetra Galaxy saying, “The secret to ultimate power resides in the Alimbic Cluster.” The Federation sends her to the Alimbic Cluster to ensure federation control or that it remain secret. She encountered several other hunters who wanted the ultimate power including an enemy of the Federation by the name of Sylux (mentioned below 4 paragraphs down) who stole a ship and a suit from the GF. Her goal was to collect all 8 Octoliths by defeating the guardians. Once she has done so (while also scanning things for information about the Alimbics) she must return to the Planet of Alinos to activate the Alimbic cannon to open access to the Oubliette, a chamber sealed in another dimension to trap away the incredibly powerful and dangerous Gorea, a monster which destroyed the Alimbics. After watching the other hunters get all their power sucked away, obtaining the Omega Cannon (a.k.a the ultimate power), and defeating Gorea, she leaves the Alimbic Cluster.

Some time afterwards, Samus was contacted by the Galactic Federation, who had lost conctact with a group of Galactic Federation troopers in the Dasha Region on a planet called Aether. There she encountered Metroid Prime again, but this time looking similar to Samus, but corrupted and twisted by the Phazon hunger. This being became known as “Dark Samus”. Samus also found some moth-like beings on Aether called the Luminoth, an intelligent and peaceful species similar to the Chozo. One of their leaders, U-Mos, told Samus that they lived in peace on Aether until a meteor impacted the planet’s surface, splitting Aether in two dimensions — their normal world and the other entirely filled with darkness. This “Dark Aether” was home to a vicious and vile race known as the Ing, which in the Luminoth language means “terror”. She then goes exploring through Aether searching for the Sky Temple keys while also getting new suits and abilitys for herself to survive longer in Dark Aether. Samus then later recovers all of the Sky Temple keys and reaches the Sky Temple itself to fight the Emperor Ing, the ruler of the Ing Horde. She is victorious but when she gets the last bit of energy, Dark Aether starts to collapse into destruction and she must leave in nine minutes only to have Phazon enshroud the exit of the Sky Temple. Dark Samus forces Samus to fight her one last time only to be finished off again and reduced to Phazon dust. Samus managed to restore the planet Aether to its original state. Later, she leaves the planet, with the thankful Luminoth never forgetting how she saved them and their world from destruction.

However, Dark Samus was not totally destroyed. Samus’s final showdown with the creature is to be shown in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Corruption takes place exactly six months after the events of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, with the player again taking the role of Samus. The story begins with a meeting between Samus Aran and the Galactic Federation, in which she meets three other bounty hunters; Ghor, Rundas and Gandrayda; and help fend off a Space Pirate attack on the GFS Olympus. They are quickly dispatched to the nearby planet of Norion and ordered to activate its defense system to fend off the pirate attack. During this mission, an asteroid-size “Leviathan seed” is sighted heading toward the planet. The Hunters, having restored power to the defense system, rush to the control room, but are attacked by Dark Samus just before activating the system. Dark Samus releases a blast of pure Phazon energy and corrupts all of the hunters. With all of them unconscious, a heavily wounded Samus manages to activate the laser just in time to destroy the Leviathan.

Samus awakens one month later and learns that she and her fellow hunters were corrupted by Phazon from Dark Samus’ attack. However, the Federation scientists discover that Samus’ body was now self-producing Phazon and have even developed a Phazon Enhancement Device (P.E.D.) that allows Samus control her internal Phazon on a safe level and to enter Hypermode. Samus then learns that the other three hunters had left a couple of weeks earlier for missions to three other planets where seeds have been planted, but the Federation lost contact with them seven days prior. Samus is then ordered to destroy each Leviathan Seed one by one and seek the whereabouts of the other hunters.

Samus travels to the planets Bryyo and Elysia and the Pirate Homeworld to find upgrades to further enhance her abilities to destroy the seeds. However, she learns that the Phazon corruption initially thought to be benign can cause her body to overload with Phazon energy which she must expel to prevent total corruption. (If Samus stays in hypermode past an alloted time, she enters corrupted hypermode in which the phazon meter rises up. If the meter maxes out, Samus will be utterly corrupted, transforming into another Dark Samus, which leads to an automatic “Game Over.”) She learns that each of her fellow hunters fell to the Phazon corruption and to protect herself she battles each hunter in turn, killing them. As each hunter falls, Dark Samus shows up to drain the Phazon energy and their abilities from their bodies, with Samus powerless to stop her. Samus is able to destroy the sources of Phazon in both Seeds on Bryyo and Elysia. She also helps the Federation lead an all-out attack on the Pirate Homeworld, allowing her to destroy the Homeworld Seed as well.

The Aurora Unit 242 then discovers the location of planet Phaaze, the source of all Phazon in the universe and Dark Samus’ place of origin. Traveling with the Federation through a wormhole, Samus arrives and descends on the planet. Samus begins absorbing dangerous amounts of Phazon energy, nearly corrupting her completely, but manages to prevent this by venting all her available energy tanks and locking herself in permanent Hypermode. After venturing to the planet’s inner sanctum, she battles Dark Samus one final time, who then fuses with a stolen Aurora Unit that is linked with Phaaze’s core. Samus is able to defeat Dark Samus, which destroys the Phazon in her body and causes the planet to self-destruct. The Federation fleet escapes through another wormhole, but also lose contact with Samus in the process. Eventually her ship appears, and she reports that her mission is complete, then flies off into the bowels of space. If the player collects every pickup until the game’s end, a special ending shows the (rumored to be) Delano 7, Sylux’s ship (Samus’ hidden rival as revealed on Metroid Prime: Hunters), following Samus’ gunship as it flies off.

At this point, the Galactic Federation deemed the Metroids too dangerous to exist. Samus was then sent to SR388 by the Galactic Federation to exterminate the remaining Metroids. Once there, she finds that Metroids mutate into different forms, each stronger than the last. She successfully annihilates all the Metroids and their queen, though upon leaving the planet she finds an egg. As she stares at it, an Infant Metroid appears out of the egg and sees Samus immediately, believing her to be its mother. Samus, going against her orders, takes the Metroid Hatchling to her gunship and leave the planet. She takes the hatchling to the Ceres Space Colony, where the scientists plan to study the Metroid and their scientific properties.

Just as Samus is leaving the station, a distress signal is sent from the station to Samus. She returns to Ceres and finds bodies everywhere. She goes to the room containing the Metroid Hatchling and sees Ridley stealing it. After a struggle, Ridley flies out of the station to Zebes, with Samus chasing him. Back on Zebes, Samus discovers that the Space Pirates have rebuilt their base on the planet and have resuscitated Mother Brain, as well as Ridley and Kraid. She once again defeats Kraid, Ridley, and Mother Brain (along with Phantoon, Crocomire, and Draygon which were new commanding bosses) and with the aid of the infant Metroid, who gave up its life to save Samus. Samus leaves the planet as a self-destruct timer counts down, causing the planet to explode just as Samus leaves it.

The Galactic Federation soon had another mission for the famous Bounty Hunter. She was to go with Galactic Federation troopers to SR388 to collect samples of life for the Biologic Space Laboratories (BSL). The troopers and Samus land on the planet, where Samus and the troopers were trying to capture a Hornoad when a parasite latches itself inside Samus. After the mission is complete and she is back in her gunship, the parasite had infested her central nervous system, causing her to lose consciousness and drift into an asteroid belt. Fortunately, she was ejected from the ship and the escape pod was retrieved by the BSL and transported to Galactic Federation HQ. The parasite that attacked Samus was known as the “X Parasite”.

The X had infected large portions of her Power Suit that it had to be surgically removed, drastically altering her physical appearance. She was given a minimal chance of survival. However, they found a cure. Using the Infant Metroid cell to make an anti-X vaccine, which saved her, showing that the Metroids were the main predators of the X on SR388, though now that they are extinct on the planet, the X roam free and populate without competition. A new suit was given to Samus — the Fusion Suit.

Samus is then sent to the BSL research station where the last batch of creatures from SR388 and the infected parts of her Power Suit were sent. She is to investigate an unexplained explosion in the Quarantine Bay. For this mission, she is overseen by a computerized Commanding Officer, her second CO. Upon investigating the station, she finds that the X Parasite has taken the form of her Varia Suit, known as the SA-X (Samus Aran X). Based on the asexual division of the X, there are at least 10 SA-X on the station. Samus also learns a disturbing fact on the station — she finds out that the Galactic Federation had been conducting a secret Metroid breeding program. Once the SA-X discovered this, the section that housed these programs was detached from the station, with Samus barely escaping and one of the SA-X disposed of. This destroyed the Federation’s research. Samus then moves on to change the orbit of the lab so that it would impact SR388. But before she can do this she faces a SA-X. She destroys it but is not able to absorb the X inhabiting her armor. Upon evacuating the station, she finds an Omega Metroid waiting for her at the docking bay. She tries to fight it only to be injured badly. The SA-X comes back to kill the Metroid but is slaughtered. The Core-X floats over Samus advertising its availbility to her. Samus absorbs the X and used her new Ice Beam attack to finish off the Metroid. In the end Samus discovers that her former CO Adam Malkovich was the computer on the ship. It turns out that the minds of scientists and military leaders are frequently uploaded to computers. He spoke to her in her anger over the fact that the Federation was on its way to the lab to capture the SA-X for study. Her ship was piloted back into the docking bay by Etecoons and Dachoras (Strangly, Adam unable to pilot the ship itself). Samus then leaves the station. It is unknown what the Galactic Federation’s current view of Samus is. While she did defy a direct order by the Federation, there were extenuating circumstances and the true threat of the X parasites was not known to the Galactic Federation at the time the order was given.

Ok my last post was a bit too long sorry for that, anyway heres more

    Samus Aran

    Abilities/Skills

Outside of her power-suit (her Zero Suit form), Samus is amazingly athletic and can easily survive a fall from heights that would be impossible for a normal human. She can also run faster and jump higher, easily out performing an olympic-level athlete (her natural abilities are super-human at best). She was infused Chozo DNA (turning her into a chozo/human hybrid) shortly after being brought to Zebes by the chozo after the death of her parents (this was done as humans lack the ability to adapt to Zebes), which may explain her enhanced abilities. As a result she appears to able to adapt to places (and planets) difficult or impossible for a normal human (like Zebes and Elysia’s Skytown, both of which were originally chozo settlements). She possesses a statuesque figure that is quite limber allowing her to squeeze through Morph Ball-sized openings (thus allowing for stealthy infiltration and easy access). Samus was taught & trained by chozo since she was 3 to age of 14 (according to volume 2 of manga), at this point she was allowed to leave Zebes & return to the Federation, where she later joined the Federation Police. She was then formally trained by Federation Police (either though an acadamy and/or boot camp programs). The full extent of her Federation training is unknown, however she proably learned various Federation protocals & procedures, doing field reconnaissance (as she does the manga’s volume 3), & likely trained in the use small-arms like the Paralyzer pistol (and possibly GF Energy Rifles). She makes use good use of these abilities (allowing her to survive long enough to regain her Powersuit) when she is stranded on Zebes after her ship is shot down, following Mother Brain’s defeat in Metroid: Zero Mission. She also appears to be a decent shot & pilot (even though these skills are often augmented by her Powersuit and/or Gunship technology).

During the events of Metroid Fusion, Samus is infused with the Infant Metroid’s cells to save her from X Parasite infection. This alters her cellular structure, giving her the ability to absorb the X into her system and can regain her lost powersuit abilities by absorbing Core-X or Hard Core-X. Sadly, there was a downside to this as she also gained the Metroid’s one weakness: an extreme sensitivity to cold temperatures (this weakness is later bypassed after absorbing the Mega Core-X & regaining the Varia Suit, giving her the ability to freely absorb Blue X). She is now a Chozo/Metroid/Human Hybrid, technicially making her last living Metroid which is fitting as the name “Metroid” means “Ultimate Warrior” in the chozo language (not to metion its the name of the series itself). It is unknown if Samus gained the Metroids’ unique ability to leech life-energy. She doesn’t seem to possesses the Metroids’ ability to levitate. After absorbing SA-X’s Core-X, Samus gains the Omega Fusion Suit and all her lost powersuit abilities (including her Ice Beam)

NOTE: in my last post it states that master chiefs first armour was the MJOLNIR Mark IV, but it is a Mark V

meh your kidding right? Plasma Rifle or Energy Sword = Main Kick*** weapon? SPARTAN LASER FTW. A single laser discharged from a BA-53635/PLMD could go through 3 meters Titanium-A plating like a hot knife through butter.
Indeed, I am a fan of halo.
