Downloadable Comics on the Sony PSP

by Drake Hess on July 19, 2007 at 1:01 am

If you prefer everything in your life digitized and you cringe at the thought of stepping foot into a comic book store to pick up your favorite comic then maybe there is an easier way to get your fix. A studio by the name of D2 has created a product capable of bringing downloadable comics to your PSP, PC, and mobile devices.

In an interview with Spong, Jared Myland, the manager of OK Comics said…

“I think it’s a great idea. It’s going to expose more people to comics, perhaps people who haven’t picked one up for a while.”

Exposing more people to comics is great, however we were never really sold on the whole internet comic book craze, and this seems to be heading down the same path.

You may opt for the digital more secrete method of satisfying your craving for caped crusaders and web slinging teens in spandex, but in our opinion nothing will replace the local comic shop. There is just something that feels right about walking in on new comic day and hand picking your own pristine issue off the rack.

That is our two cents, what do you think?
