Alright, both have mellow soundtracks that carry you throughout the teaser, a civilization in ruins, artifacts scattered about, and dramatic lighting. So, which do you think does a better job of getting you hyped up to play the game?

Fallout 3 obviously. Using an old original song to complement the old radio then fading to more generic sci-fi eeriness when revealing the wider perspective, leaving a feeling of anticipation and intrigue. Whereas Gears of War uses flashy “almost gameplay but not really” graphics combined with unashamed use of a recently popular song that reminds everyone how cool Donnie Darko was (so this game must be, right?).
I mean it’s a cool advert in it’s own right but is it all about the game? No, it’s all about marketing, or at least a more despicable aspect of it.
Fallout 3 = Smirnoff ad
GOW = Coke ad
So hey, enjoy them both :o)

Idk, there both awesome. I loved the Donnie Darko movie so the Gears video was good. But the Fallout teaser reminds me of Bioshock, (which is my favorite game.)

Hm. Point on the Bioshock reference. The GOW trailer puts me in the game, though. We all know that zen-like state that you get to when you’re playing too long, and you’re just moving through the game, playing well and not responding emotionally? The GOW ad reminds me of what that feels like. The Fallout 3 teaser just makes me want to feel that way again, but reminds me that I don’t feel that way now.
Now, the Battlefield:Bad Company ‘Bad World’ ad is HILARIOUS…
