Gabe can blind fire around corners

Bend and Sony return with the sequel to Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Logan’s Shadow; with new features, an impressive soundtrack (composed by Azam Ali), and an amazing storyline (written by Greg Rucka) it seems Bend knocked one out of the park.

Gabe Logan goes in alone as he must find a “device” that was stolen from a US Naval ship by Somali pirates. At the Same time find his missing partner Lian Xing who suddenly disappears. Gabe’s search leads him all across the Middle East, as he learns more about the “device” and its creator he dives deeper into the unknown past of his partner Lian.

Many new features have been added to this installment to the Syphon Filter franchise. Including underwater physics that allowing Gabe to explore shipwrecks and travel through canals. A new button pressing mini game for both computer hacking and melee kills, a grapple system that allows you to use enemies as shields, blind fire that allows you shoot around corners, and new weapons also have been added. With new stealth kills, improved buddy system and the new havoc physics, gameplay has been greatly improved from its predecessor.

Not everything is new, for example there’s still that enemy NPC where you have to get him to turn around to shoot him in the back. Or the multiplayer, with the exception of a couple of new maps, and the inability to electrocute an enemy till the burst into flames, its still not that different.

But there is a bonus, when you buy Logan’s Shadow you get sneak preview of the next Syphon Filter multiplayer Combat Ops.

If you like Syphon Filter I say buy it, it is a great addition.
