ea-announces-command-conquer-saga-in-recognition-of-12th-anniversary

Want to play Command & Conquer for the rest of your days with one simple package? Well then prepare to do the dance of joy because EA is celebrating 12 years of the series by announcing the Command & Conquer Saga — a package that will include thirteen Command & Conquer games spanning three generations! Sounds like it could be expensive? Well, it’s not — priced at $49.99 it is actually a pretty good bargain.

But why would you want to buy thirteen Command & Conquer games you ask? With over 25 million copies sold worldwide, the Command & Conquer franchise has defined the Real-time strategy (RTS) genre with fast and fluid gameplay, cutting-edge visuals, epic storylines, and rich campaign missions — but wait, there’s more!

The series has evolved over a decade, spawned over a dozen titles, and continues to be the genre benchmark by which all RTS games are measured. That last part is up for debate, but the press release says it is so, and who am I to argue with a press release. Seriously though, it was the first franchise to introduce the modern RTS genre, and ranks in the top 5 best-selling PC franchises of all-time. Not too shabby.

Collectively the series has sold over a whopping 25 million units worldwide and has one of the largest and most active fan communities in the world.

The Command & Conquer Saga contains the following titles:

• Command & Conquer™ (Aug. 1995)
• Command & Conquer The Covert Operations™ (April 1996)
• Command & Conquer Red Alert™ (Oct 1996)
• Command & Conquer Red Alert Counterstrike™ (Mar. 1997)
• Command & Conquer Red Alert™ The Aftermath™ (Sept. 1997)
• Command & Conquer™ Tiberian Sun™ (Aug 1999)
• Command & Conquer™ Tiberian Sun™ Firestorm (Feb. 2000)
• Command & Conquer Red Alert™ 2 (Oct. 2000)
• Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ Yuri’s Revenge™ (Oct. 2001)
• Command & Conquer Renegade™ (Feb. 2002)
• Command & Conquer™ Generals (Feb. 2003)
• Command & Conquer™ Generals Zero Hour (Sept. 2003)
• Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars™ (Mar 2007)

So I say to you, reminisce in Command and Conquer goodness – for the Saga is only $49.99 and the series has undeniable quality. EA will be reminiscing with you as they celebrate their 12th anniversary. Yes, celebrating a 12th anniversary does sound a little strange at first, especially since they released a pack called “The First Decade” two years ago. If you didn’t grab that one, this package deal is actually better priced with exclusive videos and other anniversary activities.

The Command & Conquer Saga comes out this October in the US, but no news yet of release in Europe.
