Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Contest “Rank Up - Win Big”

First off, we want to thank our readers for all the support they have been showing us, Ripten has continued to grow since the site launched in May. As many of our regular visitors know, the ideas and general comments you have shared with us are already starting to make their way to the site.
In addition to what you see here, we are hard at work on a complete redesign of the site which will include personal pages for each reader compete with blog functionality and more. Again, we really appreciate your support, and now … on with the contest details!
This will be our first big promotion, and we want to send a special thanks to the amazing people over at Step-3 (Activision’s PR Department) for all the awesome stuff they are supplying us for this contest. Those guys (and girls) rule!
General (Grand Prize)

So if you haven’t figured it out by now, the theme of this contest is “Rank Up - Win Big”, and here is how it is going to work.
Step 1: Enlist in the contest
To enlist you must leave a comment below and include a valid email. No need to worry about receiving spam from us and we will NEVER sell your email addresses to anyone.
Step 2: Confirm your email
Send us an email from the address you used to sign up to riptencontest@gmail.com with the subject line reading “rank up - win big”. This will be used to confirm your entry.
Step 3: Work your way up the ranks
Unlock achievements from the list below and earn rank points. The more you do, the higher your rank becomes. When the contest closes, the top three highest ranks will win prizes with the highest rank taking home the grand prize listed above. That’s it. You have been supporting us, and this is our way to say thanks. Have fun and remember don’t do anything too crazy, we don’t want you getting hurt. Contest Ends November 10th, 2007 at Midnight EST. Winners will be contacted via email and announced on the site on Monday, November 12th.

Video tape yourself holding up a sign that reads “Rank Up - Win Big” then proceed to beat a previous version of COD (the last few minutes are fine, do not tape the entire game), post it to youtube.com, and email us the link at riptencontest@gmail.com with the subject line “beat cod”. Times Allowed: You may submit this up to 3 times. Once for each previous installment. Point Value: 500 points each (Max 1500 points) |

Dress up in military gear while holding a sign that reads “Rank Up - Win Big” and send it to us at riptencontest@gmail.com with the subject line “in uniform”. Times Allowed: You may only submit this achievement once. Point Value: 400 points |

Let me just say that I Beta Tested Call of duty 4 probably along with thousands of others and all I can say is it isnt like the other call of duty’s and not just because its “Modern Warfare” But Because its built from the ground up. Sign me up btw I never won anything in my life… lol

wow I’d never played a Cod game before and after 40 hours of no sleep, I found all the soldiers had most emails drafted and ready to go and was filming the cod endings when I discovered how much Cod sucks.
I had text ready to go saying why cod was so great and you know its not true, cod sucks, I ended up playing portal and episode 2 on my friends computer vs trying to beat cod.
what a lame game series, and now I wont get to share my landmark picture with you chad it was classic I’m from utah so you can only imagine! haha
good luck to the rest of you, any of you that seriously played any of those games to the ends deserves the prize.
I sure as hell hope cod 4 is half mite more fun to play then the previous 3 entries especially for the winner who jumped through the hoops.

I did some preliminary sketches for the map took some pictures I was planing on stopping by the army navy to throw on some gear and snap a picture but I went to my friends cause he had all 3 cod games and wow those are so not for me…I jumped through a few hoops but damn, hope you fine your cord man as for me screw it! lmfao
if anything this experience has taught me an appreciation for my tv, how the hell we ever played on old 480i 4/3 image tvs is beyond me.
RCA and picture quality…. HA!!!!

yeah I was supposed to go to my friends who has all 3 of them today but he was with his GF or something. and yeah try playing Command and Conquer 1 for the Playstation 1 it’ll blow your mind how crappy the graphics are. I bought it on ebay remembering playing it when I was younger and laughed when I put it in my PS2. I still remembered some of the codes it was pretty funny

lol man, cod though, I can’t stand the scripted events and the nazi infinite respawn until you trip around the environment and activate the next event…oh my god! I don’t even like ww2 games and today was the first one I played since some crappy medal of honor game on ps1… I should have known better…. boredom got the best of me.
I bought some ps1 rts game that was so ugly I its name was scarred from my memory only the horror of wierd pixelated weirdy things running around….
some games do not stand the test of time at all…

nice man, those all night marathons are fun!
I was just going to use my friends saves play on easy and put the nail in that coffin, but wow, I didn’t like playing it at all.
driving the new vehicle in HL episode 2 made up for my miss step, that was alot of fun plus I love the Combine pulse Rifle and the Cross bow those are two of the funnest weapons in any game to play with.
