hey ive, what exactly was the reason you sent your PS3 in for repair?

your story isn't that far fetched with csr's using excuses like third party hdmi and power supplies to deflect responsibility and void user warranty's.

customer support is horrible. I'm not sure why these low pay employees give a damn that they need to make sh!t up.

dust voids warranties... this is absurd. and I seen that one guy telling you your an idiot cause you don't know how to properly dust or take care of your electronics what a moron that douche bag is... wtf is wrong with these people defending corporations screwing you over?

its like oh there all good guys and oh he must be scamming until its not just some guy on the internet complaining and its you being forked over but then im guessing those are the exact same people who pay the $150 and start telling people on the internet oh only buy official over priced cables or you have to properly dust....what a load of sh!t!

This was my PS3,
There is no other contributing factor, I'm telling you that it was in an entertainment center throughout its entire life. Think what you would like, I haven't seen a perfectly clean ps3 in a very long time, yet I see clean 360's every day. I wiped down the vents and the top and bottom of the console as much as i could with a cleaning cloth. Beleive me I would love for them to send me the pictures of my dusty ps3 too see just how much dust constitutes out-of-warranty. I think if Sony is telling me that dust in the USB ports and MMC reader ports of the console voids my warranty, then they should be sending out free USB port plugs and MMC reader slot blanks to all customers to avoid this. Because the thing is a dust magnet, and my room is far from being considered dusty.

I really don't understand how accumulated dust can be so bad it can void a warranty. I mean sure companies are stingy about giving free repairs, but I think we're getting only one part of the story from Ive. I read about this story elsewhere also, and it's just a bit too far fetched. I don't understand how the dust can be that bad, there has to be another factor. I think Ive is sensationalizing the story just a bit.
