Fall Xbox Live Update: 500 Free MS Points Plus Original Xbox Titles
by Josh Pankratz on November 14, 2007 at 10:36 am

Christmas comes early this year for Xbox Live members. The inclusion of original Xbox titles has been announced today, along with the news that long time Live members will receive 500 free Microsoft Points. The titles available for download include Halo, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies, and Fable.
The update hits consoles December 4th, with each title costing 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). No word yet on if the new titles will feature achievement points. In addition to the Original titles, the Xbox Live Arcade game Carcassonne will be available free of charge for the first 48 hours, starting November 15th.
ShackNews reported earlier today that they received info about other titles in the works for Microsoft’s new download model. The titles they mentioned are Indigo Prophecy, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of the Cortex, and Burnout 3, all said to be released in the near future. As if we didn’t have enough to buy this holiday season, what’s a couple more MS points between friends — Thanks Microsoft!

I received this press release last night myself and the first thing I looked for in the list of Xbox Classic titles was Psychonauts. I never got to play the game when it originally came out, though I did play a demo on the PC. It was a hell of a lot of fun and now I can get it on my 360. Just a couple of nights ago my roommate and I were talking about how much it sucked that some games weren’t backwards compatible and the one we thought mentioned most was Psychonauts. Tim Schafer is a brilliant game designer.
