Activision Named Top Publisher for Month of October According to NPD
by Josh Pankratz on November 19, 2007 at 5:47 pm

With the landmark release of Guitar Hero 3 last month, Activision claimed the second, third and fourth spots in Octobers NPD numbers. Bear in mind that the game wasn’t released until the last week in sales for October. Because of this success, Activision has been ranked as the leading publisher by the NPD group.
According to QJ.net the release of the GH3 caused Activision’s market share to jump 28.7%. With all these numbers, its hard not to question the longevity of Activision’s figurative thrown of dominance. With the impending release of EA’s RockBand, will the mega-publisher usurp Activision’s short lived rule? Or will Guitar Hero just be a prelude of things to come?
