Halo or Half-Life Movie? Totilo (MTV News) & Croll (Newsweek) Battle It Out

by Josh Pankratz on November 19, 2007 at 8:21 am

chief_halflife.jpg

MTV News’ Stephen Totilo and Tim Kash go head to head in a battle of video game knowledge and wits versus Newsweek’s N’gai Croll and Smart Bomb author Heather Chaplin.

The MetaGame, hosted by Mr. Eric Zimmerman and Mr. Frank Lantz, was resurrected from last years GDC where it made its debut with Warren Spector, Mark Leblanc, video game theorist Jesper Juul, Ubisoft’s Clint Hocking, Jonathan Blow, and USC Professor Tracey Fullerton — holy hell that’s allot of names!

So without further ado, bring down the cage, get the fighters ready for combat — lets get ready to rumble! Ok, maybe not so much, but you can’t blame us for getting excited over a game show that’s uniquely ours. Furthermore the debates held are relatively insightful and entertaining, despite the shows oftentimes dimwitted questions.

    Okay…..Let me get this straight:
Halo 3 = Some unknown soldier fighting a war in a super advanced suit against crazy creatures while protecting the world from halo-shaped mass weapons of destruction.

VERSUS Half Life 2 = Which centers more around a futuristic big brother We-will-kill-you-if-you-don’t-comply society with a physics based mess up that caused a temporal rift of sorts, in turn bringing about creature from another planet.

Yep, Halo 3 is so realistic.

I’m not bashing Halo 3 or anything but, Seriously, come on.

I say Half Life, i mean cmon halo its ok but Half Life is the thing way more realistic and not TOO futuristic, besides if you think about it Half Life has a way more original story line than halo.

If the keep the orginal story of half life just adding some more dialogs to Freeman if its based on the first game it would totaly rock
