Xbox Live Fall Update – More Revealed
by Adam Montgomery on November 28, 2007 at 12:48 pm
Xbox Live will undergo a few exciting changes this fall update.
Outside of the already-announced “Friends of Friends” system, allowing a person’s friends to be viewed within their gamer profile, players will now be able to write a 500-1000 character personal profile – an improvement on the tiny few-word mottos players were previously confined to.
Reorganisation will occur, with the new “Games” blade housing the “Games Library”, which will now host all Arcade games and demos. It will also be home to the newly-added downloadable X-box games, which launches with Halo and Psychonauts – likely the most anticipated new feature of this update. The marketplace gets a similar redesign; and both will be navigated with a new “twist” method. How well this new method works (and how consequential it actually is) will be for judging on the day.
Many will be pleased to hear that Arcade demos will be deleted from the achievement list, so those irritating 0/200 games on your lists will be wiped away.
This fall update goes up next week.
