Guitar Hero Modder: Who Needs Rock Band?
by Cavin Smith on November 30, 2007 at 3:50 pm

After injuring one of his fingers from playing too much Guitar Hero II, modder Egyokeo took it upon himself to rig up a MIDI drum kit to work with the game. If he wasn’t going to be able to grip the fret his Xplorer until the aching digit fully healed, then he’d play guitar…with the drums. Hit the jump for some videos of the final product.

Egyokeo attempting Through the Fire and the Flames (Guitar Hero III):
If you still have any questions as to how he put this whole setup together (an impressive mixture of elbow grease, mucking around with specialized software, and the like) or how he’s able to hit triple-note chords with only two hands (some of the pads hit double notes), he’s detailed the whole process here. Though if you want to be a one-man band yourself, perhaps it’s best to stick with what Harmonix has given you.
