You’ll get your Guncon3 if you just calm down!
Fuss over the non-availability of a standalone Guncon3 has frustrated many. It appeared that Namco was asking us to buy Time Crisis 4 again if we wanted our friends to come play – but that’s just a kick in the nuts.
What are you going to do if you can’t buy a Guncon3 separately from Time Crisis 4? You can’t use a past Guncon. Unlike those, this one is wireless and works with HDTV’s. Infuriating aye?
It’s even more infuriating when Time Crisis 4 supports split screen multiplayer! I mean what were they thinking? Why should we have to buy two copies of the same game?
Plus what if our Guncon3 breaks? How are we going to replace it? This is what a Namco Bandai chat operator had to say:
We do not sell replacement Guncon3s. If the Guncon3 is defective, then we can provide an RMA exchange where we’ll inspect and repair or replace your Guncon3.
Oh O.K. and just to check, if I want to play split screen with my friends what should I do my fine helpful operator?
You can play the split-screen with one Guncon 3 and a controller. If you wish to play two players using two Guncon 3s then you will need another copy of Time Crisis 4.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Uh, no thank you…
But wait! There is light at the end of the tunnel. The Guncon3 will be available on the internet to buy all on it’s oddy-knocky! (That’s all by itself in ‘A Clockwork Orange’ speak). Namco Bandai don’t have to faf around with creating special extra packaging for the gun now, they can just post it to you in bubblewrap.
How do we know this? Well our friend Brandon spied the standalone Guncon3 on Play-Asia.com, and hopefully it will be available separately for the rest of the world also. If not, then just import. It’s easy!
It’s released on the 20th December and could be in your hands by the New Year. So Kotaku, PS3 Fanboy, and Arstechnia can all calm down just a little bit and stop buying multiple copies of Time Crisis 4.
[ Thanks Brandon ]
