Activision On High: CoD 4 Bags Top Honors at Videogame Awards

Activision are pleased with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s performance at the 2007 Videogame Awards, where the sterling shooter bagged two awards.
It bested rivals in the Best Shooter and Best Military Game categories, but lost out to rivals when competing for the Best Graphics and Best Multiplayer awards. Still, in a year packed with such high-quality games, it’s a good haul for Activision.
“We’re thrilled,” said executive-vice president of publishing Robin Kaminsky, “we’re committed to great gameplay experiences.” Praising the developers, he continued, “these awards are a testament to the vision, talent, and commitment of Infinity Ward.”
Ripten noted Call of Duty 4 earlier in the year, branding it with a huge 9.8 score, and stating it had “raised the bar yet again.”
Judging by the award’s 5th year results, the world seems to agree.
