littlebigplanet-killzone-2-expected-to-hit-playstation-3-in-late-08

killzone2_lbp1.jpg

With so little information on these two AAA Playstation 3 titles, excluding the jaw dropping footage we were able to see at this years E3, the question that continues to be asked is “so when is the release date?”

The semi-official Playstation Blog “Three Speech” claims that both Killzone 2 and LittleBigPlanet won’t be seen until fall of next year. In a post titled “2008 Preview” Three Speech stated the following:

“From around September or October, the PS3 will move into top gear: that’s when Killzone 2 will arrive, to truly take first-person shooters into the next-gen era. And – more excitingly in my book – when LittleBigPlanet – will arrive. Again, LBP will provide an unknown gameplay experience – firstly, because it is so unlike any other game and, secondly, because it will be up to us to define the gameplay.”

If this turns out to be true, it will likely be at least a year down the road before we will be able to get our hands on these beauties.

Three Speech have, however, been known to be not only wrong, but very wrong in the past. For example, their listing of Bioshock as a Playstation 3 title was embarrassing, as were their 2007 release dates for exclusive titles. So we’ll take this report with a pinch of salt.

If these dates are true, with the great line up that will be running through the year, including the long awaited Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo Prologue, I’m sure we will all be able to hold out a bit longer.

I’m surprised LBP is taking that long (and KZ too)… LBP looked pretty polished already.

the ps3 and ps lovers always talk about killzone, the first one was not that great so why do they expect this one to be as good as gears, cod4 or the “halo killer”.

In response to the second post, Hello… Nobody ever said kill zone would be better than halo. The xbox fan boys think that the small portion of ps3 fan boys represent all of the ps3 owners. Open your fu***** eyes this is 2007 the console fan wars are for stupid nerds. Kill zone might not be better than halo nobody ever said it would except the fan boys. So once more might I say not all ps3 owners think that so chill the hell out. Next time you want to make a comment like that actually know your facts. Maybe like waiting till its actually out to be the judge. Really all you see right now is early in game footage so who can tell. I just have to keep asking myself why I ever bother with forums half the people are retarded or out of their minds.

I’m veeery excited about both of these titles actually. Amidst the mediocre reviews, I did enjoy the original Killzone. My only real complaint with the game was the inconsistant framerate and the somewhat “tinny” sounds, but what it was able to do with the Ps2 hardware was truly something to behold. In addition to that, I have never played a game (other than COD4) that made me feel like I was a small part in a large war, which is a very surreal feeling. Killzone 2 looks alot more involved, and so long as the graphics remain consistant and the story intriguing, I’m pumped.

As for LittleBigPlanet, what can be said that hasn’t already? Its cute, looks easy to pick up and play, and can be as deep as you want it to be provided you spend the time with the customization. Absolutely awesome time to be a Playstation 3 owner.

the point was not for fan boys of a system it is the mere fact that a lot of hype has been put into this game but the first one stunk! it’s like saying nbalive 09 will be the best basketball game ever knowing it has sucked for years. or soldier of fortune will be great and we all know what that turned out like for the next gen systems.

I don’t think your quite right NBA is a poor example as it is updated yearly & we see little to no change, KZ2 is completely new tech & new gameplay elements gurellia obviously know how to push the system & thats exactly what you want this early in the consoles life
