Man Stalks Teenage Girls Via Xbox Live

Where’s Chris Hansen when you need him?
As if there weren’t enough sick individuals out there ruining the reputation of gamers, a 20-year-old man was arrested for stalking a 15-year-old girl and her sister via Xbox Live.
The man, Joshua Stetar of Saratoga Springs, New York, met the 15-year-old girl on Xbox Live last year while playing Halo. They started chatting and Stetar became more and more obsessed, sending her packages and flowers, as well as hundreds of text messages on her cell phone.
The girl’s parents sent back all of the packages and her mother eventually got her a new cell phone number, but Stetar found out the new number and resumed the text messages.
His obsession culminated with him driving from New York to Spokane, Washington – in a straight 40 hour trip – and driving by her house. 30 minutes later, he sent a text message stating:
“Tell the cops that I’m gonna rape you and your sister.”
The girl’s father phoned the police, who found the suspect staying at an Econo Lodge motel nearby. Stetar was booked into Spokane County Jail on one felony count of stalking and released on bond on Saturday.
I hope people realize that videogames have absolutely nothing to do with this, and stalking someone via Xbox Live is no different than stalking via the internet.
