Nintendo Wavebird, 2002-2007

R.I.P.
According to GoNintendo, a Nintendo Service Representative has said that he’s unaware of any plan to continue shipping Nintendo’s wireless Gamecube controller, the Wavebird, to stores.
The official statement goes as follows:
“I haven’t heard of any plans to offer the WaveBird Wireless Controllers in stores again (I did some checking, and we are still shipping the original Nintendo GameCube Controllers to stores). If you’re unable to find the original Nintendo GameCube Controller locally, you can still order this item from us.”
I love the Wavebird and I’m sad to see it go, as I’m sure many fans are. If you don’t currently own one, I suggest tracking one down now before they become too rare and prices skyrocket.
Rest in peace, my wireless friend.
