resistance2first-copy.jpg Sony has just forwarded the first high-resolution screenshots of Resistance 2. These are not magazine scans.

Pleasing to the eye, these screenshots are looking very impressive, epic, and unlike its predecessor, actually quite colourful. Please click on the images to enlarge them.

BULL SHOT!!!!! These look doctored. Don't trust sony, remember killzone 2?
  • I think you may be on to something. In fact, one of the images look like the guy is wearing lipstick...no wait, thats just me at a Sony event.

Looking over them they I would guesstimate they aren't faked. They are nicer looking than the first Resistance game, but on par with the better looking current generation games on the PS3.

-3: Screenshots from most developers are "doctored" in some fashion - from Halo 3 to Ratchet and Clank. The main difference you'll see is increased AA in screenshots.

The first Resistance screenshots appeared to have increased AA - it's what they produce for magazines. However, since both Resistance and Ratchet have 4xAA the actual game was not far off. There may also be some colour correction to make it look right in the shots.

Other than that everything looks fine.

That rifle looks an awful lot like the Overwatch Pulse rifle from HL2...

the actualy look about right (surprisingly) they tend to use a high end PC at a super high screen res (not super high for a PC but for a console) where as you can clearly see these photos are realy LOW res, just like a console,

however i have to assume the fisrt game couldnt have been anything special as i havent heard anything about it, it also looks too much like gears of war, which is enough to put me off as that was the most boring game iv ever played.

(not that it matters im a PC game because i like having good looking graphics, eg, my call of duty 4 looks better than this "new" game (way, WAY better)

Tam: The source images were apparently 1080p, so I expect you're right in this area.

Resistance is a first person shooter, whereas Gears of War is a third person shooter. Resistance is a good game with huge battles, but I mainly enjoyed it because it was set in the UK - where I could kill aliens in the cities I have lived in.

Is the PC version of COD4 that much more impressive than its console patriots? I expect you are a huge fan of Crysis.
  • Love these screenshots - and I can't wait for Resistance 2. The PS3 is undoubtedly more than capable of producing screenshots of this caliber, so I believe these are real - but whether the actual gameplay looks this good or not is still debatable.

Still, good for Sony. This one looks like a winner.
  • i hate those unrealistic games even though they are nice looking ...
May be games related to WW2 are more suitable for me
