UK: Top 50 Best-Selling Games of 2007
by Patrick Steen on January 31, 2008
Today we can present to you the top-selling UK games of 2007. Football and sequels rule, originality falls.
Not too much has changed from last year, except more single format games higher up the list. The majority of these are of course titles for Nintendo’s Wii and DS, notably Brain Training taking the second place prize. That is, even though the game’s creator, Dr Ryuta Kawashima, says he hasn’t made a single yen from the game. Halo 3 places well, but not at the staggering heights that were reached in the US.
However, the top 50 are littered with re-offenders, from Fifa to Pro Evolution Soccer, Mario Party and Call of Duty. Original IP’s are few and far between, with notable mentions being Assassin’s Creed, Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm and Wii Play. We would have liked to have seen more of Bioshock, Ratchet and Clank Future, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Mass Effect.

balla…we very much do know the true meaning of gaming…as there are more Games related degree courses in the UK and its on the rise!! Im studying a Games Technology BSc at the University of the West of England (UWE) and this year on the course there were 80 people enrolled…and on the Computer Science Bsc on the first day there wasn’t even half of that (38 to be precice) THE UK GAMING INDUSTRY IS ON ITS WAY UP BABY!!
and i wouldn’t imagine the US top 10 would look much different…opposed to FIFA not being there as they’re not into theyre footy (soccer) as much as we are here :P

What is the true “meaning” of gaming?
on February 9, 2008 8:06 pm
The true meaning of gaming is being able to blow the brains of someone you don’t know all over a wall with some gun you’ll probably never actually use in real life…….
And gettin away with it.
