four-new-street-fighter-iv-famitsu-scans-surface-thunder-thighs-returns

famitsu_sfiv_scans.jpg

New scans of Street Fighter IV from Japanese print publication Famitsu were just made available and confirm the existence of Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile, and Zangief in the best way possible.

So, what we have is essentially the original Street Fighter II cast along with a new character. Surely, we’ll see more faces, both new and old. Personal opinion and hi-res screens after the break.

I’m kinda’ at odds with myself – esthetically, I’m really digging the new style. It’s a little out there, but it retains the soul from the old school Street Fighter days, while adding a nice next-gen HD flair, but why the hell does everyone have about a hundred-pound muscle surplus? How does E. Honda manage to have washboard abs and weigh in at about 8,000 pounds? I won’t say anything about Chun-Li, because let’s face it – those thunder thighs are just damn sexy!

Capcom is still showing off the same stage shown in the initial SFIV reveal, which only adds fuel to the debate revolving around the games actual percentage of completion. Are they further along than they would like us to believe?

The characters seem to be more or less fully modeled, with move sets in place. If you had asked me a week ago, I’d say ’09 release for sure — but now? I’m leaning a little towards late, late, ’08.
