NaturalMotion, the animation developers behind the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV and Star Wars: Force Unleashed titles, will be giving a demonstrate the latest morpheme (advanced animation engine and powerful graphical authoring tool-chain) features at this years GDC.

The morpheme product works in tandem with the company’s endorphin and euphoria products, both based on Dynamic Motion Synthesis (DMS), which makes use of artificial intelligence and Adaptive Behaviors to simulate the human-nervous system. NaturaMotion is the first company to institute this breakthrough technology.

Ripten will be receiving a hands on demo as well as conducting an interview with the animation developers themselves. If you have any questions you would like us to ask, feel free to leave them in the form of a comment below.

    Hi there! ;-)
In one of the last GTA IV previews a situation was mentioned, when Niko jumped out of a moving car, went head over heels realistically and while he slowly stood up again, he suddenly raised his arms to protect his head, because a car stopped in front of him with screetching tires.
    1. Do you think it’s a possible scene in GTA IV?
    2. IF you think so, was it just a too lucky coincidence or will we often be witness of such incredible events of artificial human behavior?
    3. How much of Euphorias physics do you expect in liberty City over all?
What about Cars, trashcans, glass, perhaps even water and splintering wood? Remember that early “splintering wood video” of Star Wars Unleashed – wasn’t that the fine work of Natural Motion, too?
    4. Oh, by the way, can you explain the differences between Natural Motion, Euphoria, Endorphin and Morpheme in brief? I didn’t get that…
    Thanks for answering,
    Gregormeister

    Hey guys, me again!

When will you interview the guys from Natural Motion? And when will WE able to read the sum of it? I’m very curious about that! (Please ask them my questions!)

    Greetings,
    Gregormeister
