New World Of Warcraft Tourney Lets You Create Level 70 Characters

Great news for anyone who finds grinding a chore. Plus cash prizes are in excess of $200,000 USD. What are you waiting for? Hit the jump!
The worldwide tournament will be a team-based affair featuring three on three matches in the arena system. It’s also going to take place in ‘special realms’ – i.e. on different servers – so it doesn’t foul up normal arena systems. But that means you not only get to make rocking characters, you’ll be able to tank them up with epic equipment too.
The point of all this is to create something with a little more depth than ‘might is right’. With all entrants able to form comparable characters, the emphasis shifts to who is the most cunning tactician. Or at least whoever has the gumption to form a balanced team.
You’ll be able to get involved from April, when local qualifiers launch in Europe, South Korea, North America, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. The top four from each will go on to the global finals for, among others, a top prize of $75,000 USD.
Of course, you’re going to have to pay for the privilege – £12/€15 in Europe, $20 in North America, 20,000 won in South Korea and $450NTD elsewhere. Nonetheless, as someone who doesn’t have the time to invest in bumping a character up to level 70, I find it a rather appealing prospect.

What I wonder is.. if you’ve never had a level 70 character and they just give you one, will you know how to properly play it well enough to win a tournament?

Good basic tactics can be good whether you are lv 10 or 70, no? It just means you won’t be completely outclassed from the outset.
