LittleBigPlanet to Feature Voice Chat Lip Syncing

Voice chat is a handy thing. It lets you share your thoughts with the multitudes on the internet without having to type a bunch of annoying letters. And as anyone who has ever played games on the internet (which I’m sure includes you, dear reader) it’s also a handy tool for anonymous racism and getting called a homosexual by pre-pubescent males.

But aside from the abuse of anonymity, voice chat makes gaming with others much easier when trying to communicate complex ideas, strategies or just being social. But the makers of LittleBigPlanet want to take voice chat one step farther, by adding lip synching to in game characters. Edge magazine has brought forth this little tidbit for you to savor, like a delicious candy, while you wait patiently for the game’s release.

The prospects of lip synching is a step forward for in-game character interaction. It’s the LittleBigDetails (sorry, couldn’t resists) that take a game from good to great, and this looks like one of those details.

And, as an added bonus, deaf people will have a much easier time understanding what you’re saying without subtitles! Everyone wins!
