Gears of War 2 Confirmed for November 2008 - Possible Chainsaw Counter Attacks
by Dylan Duarte on February 20, 2008

Cliffy B has just announced at GDC 2008 that Gears of War 2 will in fact be released in November 2008.
“Gears 2 is going to be bigger, better and far more badass than the first one.”
That’s straight from the horse’s mouth, ya’ hear? An updated Gears of War was shown, presumably from GoW 2.
Afterwards, Cliffy B came back on stage with a real chainsaw bayonet.
“It’s a funny thing about rumors on the Internet - once in a while they’re true.”
Chad has also told me that from what he’s seen, he believes that you’ll be able to block and counter chainsaw attacks.

Did he cut anyone in half? Cause I could see him doing that. You know, to show everyone how badass he is.

I really dug the 2 player co-op of the first one, and if Gow2 does it better, It’ll be awesome just for that. I am hoping, however, that they do something about the adversarial multiplayer. It was fun at first, but it was so full of glitches/exploits and just general BS that I couldn’t enjoy it anymore. Also, for the love of all that is good and just in the world, do us a favor and rip off Halo/CoD4 style party/matchmaking. These days it just doesn’t make sense to have to have to go through all that crap to get into a game with your friends or sit there for fifteen minutes waiting for more people to join before you can play.
