Lair Controls Patch Experienced at GDC 08

One of Lair’s biggest criticisms was that it’s motion controls were compulsory. The rumour of a patch adding analog stick control caused a sigh of relief among Playstation 3 gamers.
Now one fellow has claimed that he’s experienced the patch at GDC and that it will be released in the coming months.
Perhaps regrettably on their part, Factor 5 have swallowed their pride and patched the game’s controls. In truth the controls were the least of Lair’s troubles, but every little helps.
DugBuzz, an IGN Blogger, reports that the patch will be released in Q1 2008 and that it now plays so well that IGN should change their review score:
MEGATON!!! Lair patch coming in Q1 which adds choice of analog control.
I played it and Holy shit; Greg needs to give them a new score. It was kind of clear that Factor 5 put in the extra effort a little begrudgingly, but the results were amazing. This might push me over the edge into the “must buy PS3” territory.
I also mentioned Greg Miller’s name, and the Factor 5 guys burned a hole through my skull with their looks of hatred. I think they’ll be alright once the patch is out for a while though.
I doubt we’ll be this excited when the patch hits, but it will surely deserve our time, especially with such large environments and an award winning musical score by John Debney. We’ll still put this report in the rumours section, since “Dugs” reliability is at the moment unknown.

Now this update could significantly improve the sales for a game that had all the potential to be AAA, but landed right on its flat ass, because of the Tilt controls.

I think it’s too late to make a difference in sales. They spent soo much money on advertising this game and if you look everywhere it can be bought for cheap- new.
I loved this game, but i wish it had more like online dragon fighting. If the patch has been ‘experienced’ why is it going to come in the following months? Seems kinda slow, if this game somehow adds a multiplayer content. Saweeet.
