Playstation Home To Release On March 20th?

by Patrick Steen on February 25, 2008 at 8:25 am

untitledhomecountdown-copy.jpg

Could Playstation Home be out within 24 days? A web countdown suggests as much, though its reliability is unknown. Make your mind up after the jump.

There have been signs that Home’s release is imminent, with a Warhawk patch adding game launching within Home, XMB accomplishments integrated into Devil May Cry 4, a significant update to the Home beta, and news that internally Home is well past v1.00 – the version that when made available will signify the launch of the service.

A website countdown has now been discovered, suggesting that Home will be released in less than 24 days. Although an announcement was expected at last weeks GDC ‘08, a March release is certainly not unexpected.

Combine the countdown with this insider report

A game must be able to integrate into Home, a game must support “Accomplishments”. Right there, two important things, the PS3 system for achievements is called “Accomplishments”, and Home is coming out VERY VERY VERY Soon.

…and like a teenager on a McDonald’s diet, the imminent release of Playstation Home gains weight.

Could that be the launch for the beta, or is it already in beta testing?

Finally, soon my PS3 will have the features it should have had at launch!

    *throws 360 out the window*

It’s been in a closed beta for months now. I think around 6 months.

This site is more than likely a fake.

If you look at the source code, there’s an embedded stat counter from a free stat counter website. You can change your PC time to advance it but nothing happens when it hits zero. More than likely not legit, but we can dream anyway. :)

bprell: Though you could be right, being able to change the counter is not a sign that it’s fake. You could do the very same thing with the official countdown to GTAIV’s first trailer – nothing would happen when it got to naught as nothing had yet been uploaded.

Who the heck is colorize.com and why would people think that it was some official Sony website?
