Home Open Beta Starts 24th March in Japan?

by Patrick Steen on February 27, 2008 at 10:43 am

The stars continue to align… Following the dubious 20th March countdown on an unknown website, a somewhat reliable Japanese news source has revealed that the Home Open Beta will begin on March 24th in Japan.

Jonnyram, as he is known on the Neogaf Forums, says in carefully chosen words “Home open beta starts 24 March in Japan. Sorry if old.”

It’s very possible that the original countdown is to signify the end of the closed beta and the beginning of a worldwide open beta for Sony’s Home. Though Jonnyram is trusted on the infamous Neogaf forums, his reliability is unknown to us, so take his words with a pinch of salt.

Enjoy some footage of the most recent build of Home below.

Wow… looks like great fun. Let’s see how much of it remains free and how much additional content will come at a price.

That could be the crunch Dan. Having these stores for clothes worries me – I don’t want to buy anything.

The good thing is that unless you really care about fancy clothes, you don’t have to buy them (if they do end up charging for stuff, which I’m sure they will considering they already have a place for the price). Like the overpriced themes and gamerpics on Xbox Live, however, I’m sure lots of tools will buy them anyways.

OK that looks like the Sims ps3 style. I just don’t really get the idea behind this. I have been reading rumors that this is going to be the x-box live killer??? I just don’t see it. I think it would get really boring really fast unless some major improvements are made and I think the only thing thats going to be free is the walking around part of it.

Something free can still suck. And I’m not yet seeing how this DOESN’T.

yeah and paying for something doesn’t make it suck any less.

    This may be of interest

I believe all of that is free extension of the games.
