The Sims 3 Website Opens

Somebody sure is feeling confident.
Remember that Sims 3 website we reported on a few weeks ago? Yeah, well, today it’s gone up. And EA is confident that it’s gonna be just as big as the last Sims, as the image above demonstrates.
As per usual, it’s basically just a hype-building machine. But if you’re a Sims fan, it’s absolutely worth a look, especially since there’s a signup for something called the The Sims 3 VIP area.
Sims 3 VIPs will “be the first to get early, exclusive content, give us feedback on the game in development, get access to special web events, and much more.” I’d imagine it’s worth doing as long as you’re on the site already. Can’t hurt!
And while you’re there, you might want to check out the ‘Create a Sim’ and ‘Create a Home’ tabs, but you might not, as all it contains are screenshots and a description of what you’ll be able to do when you finally do get the game. But we’re sure it’s just a muff up, right EA?
While browsing you may get a ‘Website is unavailable’ screen; looks like they’re getting hit hard. And if you’re looking for solid impressions, Ziff Davis seems to have first dibs as The Sims 3 has graced the cover of Games for Windows’ latest issue that should be available on stands right now, along with 1UP.com having a preview written by Games for Windows Magazine editor Sean Molloy. If podcasts are your thing, the description says it’s discussed on today’s GFW Radio.
