The Incredible Hulk Gets Its Incredible Trailer

by John Kershaw on March 31, 2008 at 7:35 pm

You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry

Sega have released the first trailer for The Incredible Hulk game, due for release the same time as the film in June. Although it gives away little of the plot or any other characters in the game, the trailer does give us some clear indication as to what we should expect– destruction.

During the trailer, Hulk manages to smash up the following: the sidewalk, a robot, a military Hummer, some taxis, a tank and a giant, one-eyed, robot thing. Not bad going for a 60 second film.

Earlier this year Chad was able to get a few words with the game’s Creative Director, Mark Nau, who indicated, among other things, that this level of destruction is to be expected.

Alright, so people are going to see the movie and hear about the movie and they are going to get all pumped up and excited about how awesome and primal The Incredible Hulk is. And they will want to be The Incredible Hulk.

So, we break it down like that. What is awesome about being that guy? What variety of situations play to what is awesome about being him? And how can we fit in with the tone and themes of the movie, making a story that follows the movie and yet extends beyond?

So, #1: Hulk Smash. So a lot of effort toward making sure Hulk can smash, and that it’s fun to smash, and that if you think you can smash, it goes SMASH.

To watch the trailer for yourself, head over to the game’s official site here.
