Sam and Max Season One Sleuths Onto Wii in September
by Andrew Podolsky on April 4, 2008

A scene from Season Two: Do you think we’ve come to the right place, Sam?
Who says adventure games are dead? Luckily for fans of the once-thriving genre, or new Wii owners looking for a cinematic detective story about a giant dog and rabbit, Sam and Max will be making the jump to the Wii this fall in retail form.
This is no Wii-ware– you’ll have to purchase an actual disc to play Sam and Max on Wii. Although you can download the entire first season on PC now (with the second season to conclude in the next week and a half), if you enjoy these type of games the season pass is the way to go.
Some highlights from the first season include Max’s presidential election, the introduction of Abraham Lincoln’s giant stone head, and a trip to the ethereal Internets, where a gang of obsolete hardware called the CARS lie in wait to mock you.
My opinion is that the second season is definitely an improvement, with mysteries to solve at the North Pole, Düsseldorf, and even Hell. But the first season has its moments.
I’d also really like to see Telltale include the invaluable Max hint-system from season two in the Wii release. If the first season does well on Wii, and enough people are able to enjoy it without getting stuck, we might see the rest of the episodes follow suit.
