American Gladiator Gina Carano in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
by Toni Dimayuga on May 31, 2008 at 4:46 am

EA just announced that undefeated EliteXC mixed martial arts fighter and American Gladiator Gina Carano will be playing Natasha, a deadly Soviet commando, in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, which comes out for the PC and Xbox 360 this holiday season.
Not only will Carano appear in the live-action movie cutscenes, but her character will be a playable unit in the game. Carano made these comments about her new role:
The last year has been such a whirlwind for me, from everything that’s happening with EliteXC this weekend to American Gladiators and now with EA and Red Alert 3.
Natasha is such a cool, powerful character; her actions definitely speak louder than her words which is something I definitely identify with. I can’t wait to see how everything turns out and I hope all of the gamers out there have a great time wreaking havoc as me.
Now is it just me, or is Command & Conquer turning into Dancing with the Stars? What’s up with using B celebrities in this franchise? Let’s see: so far we have James Earl Jones (Star Wars), Josh Holloway (Lost), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars), Michael Biehn (The Terminator, Aliens), Natasha Henstridge (Species), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Jennifer Morrison (House), and Michael Ironside (Top Gun).
Who’s next on their list? Michael Madsen? Lance Henriksen?

it’s you.

I nominate Gary Burghoff (Radar O’Riley of M.A.S.H. fame) for the voice of Kane.

…….or maybe the famous P.Sheen… :P
on May 31, 2008 4:23 pm
You implying I’m B list, mad? Deeply offended.
on May 31, 2008 4:47 pm
Carrano’s fighting tonight (saturday) on CBS. just fyi for anyone who’d like to know.

Personally, think I put you in pretty good company seeing that ms. Dimayuga Feels that James Earl Jones, Billy Dee Williams and Michael Biehn are “B” list actors. and besides, Bruce Campbell is a real “B” actor and he is as cool as cool can be.
Ms. Dimayuga probably feels the actors from “lost”, Smallville and party of five are “A” list actors…….blah…..
on June 1, 2008 1:24 pm
Considering that the list I mentioned is one of the actors from “Lost”, you’re mistaken then for assuming who I considers are A list celebrities.
on June 1, 2008 5:36 pm
you put James Earl Jones as a “B”
actor for god sakes! Michael Biehn! is a “B” actor as well??
let’s do a little litmus test to see what movies you think are better, just for fun. :)
which movie was better? John Carpenter’s “The Fog” made in 1980 or the 2005 remake with Selma Blair and Tom Welling?
on June 1, 2008 6:31 pm
Have you ever even played command & conquer?
I am curious what “A” list (by your standards) celebrity does video games? Mayhap 50 cent or John Woo? There was that one Gwen Stephanie game mayhap that was more to your liking.
If all those actors you listed (professional actors)are doing voice work for this game then I don’t see the comparison with one legged bimbos and old flatulent talk show hosts cashing in on faded glory for a retarded audience of which you are apparent.
This is a solid line up of professional actors doing voice overs for a game, what your upset be cause tom hanks and Cameron diaz are not filling the bill?
You seem like your desperate for an article, are not that into sci-fi games or movies or just watch to much american gladiators and dancing with the stars.
Either way, frankly, “A” list stars can take there overrated, over payed, over injected ass cheeks ego trips and merrily go f**k themselves. Anyone who doesn’t like Micheal Iron side can wank off with them!

LC: Speak nicely.
Micheal Beihn is pretty huge in my eyes - The Terminator, Aliens. Big actor in good films.
on June 1, 2008 6:58 pm
Oh brother, calm down people. B celebrities don’t necessarily mean anything bad. No, I’m not upset over who is doing these voice overs, but certainly some of you are offended enough to start calling me names. Sheesh.
For the record, I do like half the people on that list.
on June 1, 2008 7:14 pm
Now were having some fun! let’s get more edgy!
Sir Steen, The young Lady should know what the deal is if she has read any of your articles with replies from I, LC, David or even you. debate is fun and stimulating. makes for better copy. and frankly, I am still waiting for the reply to my question. ;P
on June 1, 2008 7:16 pm
Sheesh, I guess your negative article slighting good actors doing there jobs by comparing them to the scum of some ridiculous reality show who’s contestants generally do not even rate as high as a “b” status as coming across rather arrogant, sheesh excuse me. Pray tell, where do you list on the alphabet hierarchy?
on June 1, 2008 10:10 pm
I didn’t watch the remake of “The Fog” because I don’t really care for Tom Welling.
Since when did debates involve name calling?
This wasn’t meant to be a negative article. It was just a news brief and I was trying to make a light comment at the end of it. I didn’t realize people would take it so seriously. I apologize for offending anyone.
on June 1, 2008 10:37 pm
Don’t take reader comments to heart. A little comment at the end can turn into a main point depending upon the type of readership you have. I personally
feel that you should embrace it. It adds an interesting aspect to an otherwise mundane article. c’mon you got 15 replies and growing, that is more than the average 2 to 6 replies articles get here on ripten since I have been coming here.
Also, LC has very strong opinions. he doesn’t hide and he doesn’t do it to be a troll. That is just the way He is. everybody knows that here as far as I can tell. If you feel slighted, Give LC a solid reason
why you feel that way. I read over his replies to you and I really cannot see what name he called you. unless its the implied
statement about You being part of a retarded audience. If you are not part of that group of people whats the problem?
To be honest, LC looks to be showing restraint. ask Noble Patric Steen. these are mild statements in comparison.
on June 2, 2008 12:09 am
Hehe, these weren’t exactly the type of replies I was looking for.
Being that I’m new here, I didn’t realize I had to tread so lightly. I’ll keep it in mind. Take care.
on June 2, 2008 3:17 am
Madpuppy: I don’t condone how LC is talking to my fellow journalist and I myself would be peeved at the way he presents his argument.
LC: Please stop being so confrontational, it really doesn’t promote debate, and ends up being quite rude.
on June 2, 2008 3:43 am
have a binky and a nappy nap.
on June 2, 2008 9:54 am
Is anyone surprised by LC’s negativity? Its not like there is a pattern or anything. I think he needs a hug and a free beer…..I’ll send the beer, but i ain’t doing the hugging..
