Rufus, one of SFIV’s new characters.
Speaking with Famitsu Magazine, SFIV producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that the home versions of the game would feature online play and new characters not in the arcade version.
Although a release date has yet to be confirmed, Ono still offered a few details, saying that the development team is “watching the overall balance” in the home version’s roster and “won’t be adding unnecessary stuff” to online play.
The list of new characters for SFIV is now up to five including Rufus, El Fuerte, Abel, Crimson Viper and Seth. Seth is the game’s final boss, so it’s unsure if he will be a playable character.

Street Fighter IV is slated to land in homes for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
