Microsoft: Super Mega Ultra Leak Week

Over the past few days there has been a relentless onslaught of unsubstantiated, but most likely true, leaks which have been released and spread like wildfire. I say “most likely true” because they’ve been taken from marketing and research company Intellisponse’s website. Intellisponse is responsible, to some extent, for Microsoft’s marketing. How else would they have this MASSIVE list of things taken from them?
Although, keep in mind that they also do research and the following may be nothing more than concepts or works in progress. That said, I don’t think there has ever been such a volume of things unintentionally released.
Microsoft has had particularly bad luck, with the bunch of Rare leaks from a few months back, but this is on a whole ‘nother level! There are so many that we’re just going to have to bullet point those bad boys. Caveats aside, it’s believed that the following were all planned for unveiling at E3 2008.
- Avatars: Think of them as the answer to Nintendo’s Mii’s and a possible replacement to the gamerpics that you fools have been nickel and dimed for.
- Forza Motorsport 3: 400 cars, 100 tracks, 2 discs (Gran Turismo 2, anyone?), and massive DLC rapage.
- Lips: Microsoft’s looking to take Singstar’s throne. Two wireless mic’s included, 30 songs on disc, ability to use any song.
- Motion controlled Tony Hawk: Surely it’s a shoe-in for the Wii, and Activision is publishing, so it’s almost a sure thing. Although, what about the 360/PS3? New peripherals incoming?
- Trioxide: This alleged piece of software/hardware/fantasy (okay, so I added that last one) will allow for “the ability to play the latest console games on your PC”. Sounds dodgy, to say the least, regardless there seems to be two SKU’s planned, $49 and $299. Why such a gulf in price? No clue. What are in the SKU’s? Your guess is as good as God’s. Does it even exist? Probably not!
- Silicon Knights’ possible next game: ‘Crucible’, uh guys, I thought Too Human was a trilogy? Finish that up, thanks. Anyways, gameplay footage embedded below. Resembles an unstable build from very early development – looks promising, if executed well.
