Mobile RPG “The Shroud” Scheduled For AT&T & Helio Network Release June 26th

You know you are getting old when an RPG that resembles the look of something you used to play on your Sega Master System can be crammed into a mobile device. It’s also a reality check when you see your twelve year old cousin walking around with a $400 cell phone — all proof that the times are changing and mobile gaming is a huge opportunity.
I don’t have much experience with mobile games, however in taking a brief look at “The Shroud” website it wasn’t too hard to make a loose visual comparison to the games I played growing up such as Zelda and Phantasy Star. The site features thirty screen images and three gameplay vidoes, one of which showcase the ability to fish in game.
The story begins with a peaceful newly settled mining community. You take on the role of a Taro, a boy who stumbles upon an ancient doorway while working in the mines. The discovery accidentally unleashes the monsters of The Shroud, evil creatures that had been banished by humankind for thousands of years. The monsters wreak havoc on the town causing many to flee. You as Taro remain to take on the evil creatures and restore the land.
If you are a fan of RPG’s, this one sounds interesting enough to occupy any free time you may have away from your console and big screen TV. For more information on this soon to be released mobile game, check out shroudgame.com.
