I need to get home and play!
Forget about real football; NFL pro athlete Daunte Culpepper set a world record for “Highest Score in the Two-Minute Drill on Madden NFL 2002.” Hit the jump for details.
Culpepper was Madden 2002’s cover boy, so perhaps that’s why it was the version of his choice. Playing at EA’s 20th Anniversary Premiere Party for Madden NFL 09, and playing as himself when he was with the Minnesota Vikings, Culpepper scored 14,500 points in the Two-Minute Drill. If undefeated, his record will be included in next year’s Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition 2009.
The people from Guinness were actually at the event to present EA with two Madden-related awards: “Most Games in an NFL Series (16 titles),” and “Highest First Week Sales of an NFL Game (2 million copies of Madden NFL 07).”
