Teenagers Go On Crime Spree; Blame GTA

Another batch of idiots have broken the law and pinned videogames as their reason behind it. Awesome. Hit the jump to read all about it.
A group of teenage males went on a crime spree in Nassau County, New York, which included robbery, mugging, and destruction that resulted in thousands of dollars worth of damage.
A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old have been arrested, while the remaining three, ages 14, 15, 16, are also being charged with first-degree robbery. They’re all being charged as adults and could potentially face up to 5 years in jail.
According to Det. Sgt. Anthony Repalone, shortly after the arrest, the boys claimed that they were emulating Grand Theft Auto IV.
Is there anything I could say here that hasn’t already been said? It’s infuriating that the boys used video games as a scapegoat and it’s ridiculous that most people will refuse to see that and simply go back to claiming that “vidja games” are the root of all evil.

jack may be disbared, but that doesnt mean he still isnt a very involved video game activist. well still be hearing about this from him.
and at the story, its morons like these that give gamers the bad rep we have and make us such easy targets for this kind of crap. hop they do plenty of time just for sheer stupidity.

Anyone that believes an 18-year-old kid and his friends would be so impressionable that they actually commit crimes against their will is quite simply a moron. It would be just as credible to believe someone who said the devil made them do it.

Yep, utter nonsense. They should get extra time for being so stupid as to copy a video game.
Maybe if we ban women it’ll prevent rape etc (insert Humour/Irony disclaimer)

What really gets me is that everyone keeps blaming GTA. Gamers should put their crimes to work for them and blame trash like Incredible Hulk, or Petz.
