The County Court heard the pair – aware of each other’s age – communicated through the game and on the phone, with their conversations progressing from “chit chat” to intimate and sexual.

Her father became concerned after she told him she loved Taylor, and he sent Taylor a message warning him to stay away from his daughter, Judge Susan Pullen told the court. The girl later went to stay with a friend, claiming she’d been kicked out of home.

On July 3 last year Taylor bought the girl a Jetstar plane ticket and $60 for a taxi fare to stay with him in Melbourne. The next day police intercepted Taylor and the girl at Melbourne Airport.

Judge Pullen said Taylor told police he had developed feelings for her, and when he found out her age he thought it “could be a problem”.

He told police he did not intend to have sex with her until she turned 16.

Judge Pullen accepted the girl asked Taylor for his help to come to Melbourne to be with him and get away from her father, but he well knew her age was a problem.

Taylor, pleaded guilty to enticing a child under 16 against the will of her father.

Also to add to the above he didnt infact only get a 7month order it was a 2yr order and he also got a fine that took the same 2yr period to pay. Also i’d like to add to this that everyone was quick to jump and down but who should u be jumpiing up and down about here ? do u know everything *clearly not* the article above is even wrong and can be dragged thru the legal system itself for *defimation of character*. If people was to actually be in the court room and hear the case then they would know that she infact not only lied to her father but she lied to everyone involved to get things to run the way she intended, she is a sinister caniving vindictive person who seen this man as her way of gettin to australia where she has other family that she wanted to see, You all pointing fingers at him when all he was himself was a victim – a victim of not only her lies but of his own stupidity for gettin into such a situation in the first place!

OMG lol if u all want to belive what was written in the article above then i must say u are retarded. The guy being spoken about was infact lied to by the girl saying that she was 19 and that she wanted to move to australia and it wasnt until it wasnt until after he had brought the ticket that he had found out her age, also he was under the belief from her that her father did infact know about her going ther. As it turns out she infact not only lied to her father but she lied to the guy that was arrested also as she was with yet another whom she got pregnant to in the week leading up to her going to australia. Also just to add the child that he father to another women was when he was younger also! THE FACTS SHOULD BE GOTTEN ABOUT THINGS BEFORE PEOPLE GO AHEAD AND *SLANDER* SOMEONE.

Just wondering that we can send them to war, teach them to murder before they are allowed to drink in the US. There is no exact science behind puberty. Our kitten went into heat at 5.5 months old, 2 weeks before she was to be neutered and 3 months early. The shock wasn't so much that I saw her with the local tom on her back, but that the cute little 3 week old kitten I rescued could actually want sex! Didn't want the kitten to grow up.

And then you have my son who febreezed the whole house after a classmate girl had to come home with us because of a family emergency. Consent and understanding are important. Pedophiles look for kids, but the kids look for them too. My son and his friends play xbox360 in private parties and check friend invites carefully. Other children we know are allowed full access in the privacy of their room and no monitoring. One family believes going to church every Sunday is enough.

My son was approached by a pedophile sending him a personal video of himself stripping to my child's youtube account. My son has me check all his messages since he got a rude one about a guy who likes to shoot cats. My son was 10 at the time. The pedophile was 12. I reported the video to the police and that is the last I know because even though he approached my child, he is a minor and must be protected.
Probably from me.
I overheard my son's classmate girls talking uncomfortably about a girl in the class that tried to touch and kiss other girls and they are all 10 and 11 years old!

Ignorance is bliss. But I can only protect my child by finding them before they find him

We may have tried to evolve, but are still ruled by our hormones and instincts. I had parents who always picked me up and dropped me off and never allowed a phone in the bedroom or computer. So, I was one of a small group of celibate teenagers who studied and had college-approved extra-curricular activities of volunteering at the hosptial, chess, math science clubs and swimming and water polo teams. To tired to get into trouble.

I also want to point out that the news article I sourced was Australian and they were the ones that deemed him a pedophile. I just went with “pedophile” for the article because “Guy Who is Generally Considered Too Old To Date 15-Year-Olds” seemed too long for the title.

So you can see there’s other factors here based on the individual and their particular environment, including not only socialization/normalization (upbringing) but local law. Now it can come down to your particular morals on interpreting this, or you can go with legality.

The age of consent in Japan is 13 years old under the Japanese national criminal law code. As an added note, even though the age of consent in Japan can be 13, the age of majority is 20 for voting. The age of adulthood is considered 20 and driving age in 20.

I think crossing the line, generally, is when one is causing another to make a decision they wouldn’t normally be comfortable with, but when someone is no longer a child is a much larger debate that has to do with the maturity of an individual, thus making it a lot harder to discern from society to society. If I’m not mistaken, the Japanese ‘age of consent’ is 13. This affects, and is affected by, a person’s upbringing in that particular social environment.
