Phew: Rock Band 1 & 2 Compatibility

Rock Band 2 was one of my greatest fears, or rather, having to buy new instruments and worrying about all my downloadable content was. Thankfully, it seems both of these issues have been deftly avoided by the Harmonix team.
Oh, and the game ships for 360 in September.
In an interview with IGN, Dan Teasdale, the lead designer, also revealed that, “We’ve even added some cool new features that let you play your DLC in different ways, which I think people will be very excited to get their hands on.” Unfortunately we’ll have to wait to find out what those might be.
The new instruments will feature improvements, too, if you have the cash to spring. And of course, the setlist will be, “…the best setlist I’ve ever seen in a music game.”
It still hasn’t sunk in that the game is shipping this fall already, so let’s remember: September for 360 and PS3 to follow! I know it’s a cliche, but ROCK ON.
