Nintendo and Sony to Expand Into Asia

Nintendo and Sony are looking to spread gaming cheer in areas of Asia that aren’t Japan. That’s right. A continent that is mainly made up of PC gamers is about to get a kick in the teeth from Mario’s shiny boot.
Nintendo is working with a South Korean game developer in an effort to pump out twenty Ninendo DS titles in the country by the end of the year.
Also, starting this month in Taiwan, Nintendo DS systems will be available at cell phone shops. The DS will also be available in China by the end of the year.
Over at Sony, they’re working with Taiwanese authorities to start teaching people how to use their dev tools. Sony will send employees over to Taiwan to train new game creators, with the hopes of distributing these games on the Sony Network.
Sony also plans to bump up their presence in South Korea.
