Xbox 360 Magazine Claims Infinity Ward Sci-Fi Shooter “Definitely Happening”
by Chad Lakkis on July 10, 2008 at 10:33 am

The latest issue of Xbox World 360 claims that one of their employees somehow gained access to information they believe confirms the existence of an Infinity Ward Sci-Fi game while attending a recent Call of Duty 4 event. However, the magazine does not go as far as to claim the game will have anything to do with the popular Call of Duty franchise.
While Infinity Ward openly discussed their intent to venture into new areas of gaming on their official blog shortly after their announced extension with Activision, there is no evidence pointing to a Sci-Fi based Call of Duty sequel.
I reached out to a producer within Infinity Ward regarding the next installment of Call of Duty a few days ago, asking specially if the next COD would have the same modern setting, or if the studio had plans to change things up. I was told that nothing could really be said about their next project just yet, and that they were still in the very early stages of development.
With that, those who believe the production for a Call of Duty sequel would have likely begun months ago, may be inclined to believe that Infinity Ward has is in fact developing a brand new IP instead. The only certainty here, is that nothing is certain, and only time will tell.

They won’t really talk about cod 6 until after cod 5 for obvious reasons.
Oh and whether it’s cod 6 in space or a new ip, I’m excited and hopefully its a new IP!
