E3 08 “Win All My Free Shit” Contest

by Chad Lakkis on July 12, 2008 at 7:13 pm

It seems that events like GDC and E3 bring out the giving nature of PR companies, unfortunately I have very little interest in swag. A few months ago at GDC I had good old Dan Landis to unload my swag on, but due to Dan’s wife selfishly deciding to crank out a baby a few days ago, Dan will not be able to attend E3 with us this year.

So, as I drove home from Taco Bell about an hour ago, I decided that I would give all the free shit I get this year to a reader instead. If you are asking yourself, what is this shit you speak of Chad? Well, that’s the thing, I have no idea what the hell it’ll be until I get my hands on it. One thing’s for sure though, whatever I get will be passed on directly to you. Bags, key chains, stickers, booth babe underwear – it can all be yours.

To enter, just leave a comment below stating something you would like me to try and get. Of course, there is no guarantee I will get it, but I am open to suggestions. One commenter will be selected randomly. We will then email that person to get their mailing address and all that good stuff. Contest will close midnight PST on Friday the 18th.

Alright then, looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

I would like for you to bring home some of that Blaznatz charm. And give me everything else, too! How dare you offer it to just “readers”. I read!

Posters! Posters for anything really. I just like posters and sometimes posters are hard as hell to get. Of course anything would be awesome :)

Clarification — this contest is only open to readers who do not currently write for Ripten. Thanks Dan, I knew I forgot to mention something.

Next time, be more mindful of when it is you are knocking up your wife!

  9. Chad Lakkis

Sci-fi alcohol that requires you to complete a long chain of quests before you can drink it. Got it. Oh, and happy early birthday.

    madpuppy,

It’s a cult classic — you don’t have to be old to get it. I’ve never seen the movie, however, but I at least understand the reference.

I would like for you to grab An external HDD for the Wii.

  13. Chad Lakkis
    on July 12, 2008 8:32 pm

    Daillone,

External? If you are going to ask for the impossible, you might as well ask for a Wii with one built in!

    a ‘wii fit girl’.

I’m thinkin any Wii game or demo you guys happen to stumble upon; Anything related to the Conduit, which looks like it’ll be a good game.

And if you would like to support a teenager who doesn’t have the funding to purchase a 360 or PS3, then I would gladly accept that as well.

    or just whatever. pick me.

I recon you should get that image blown up to poster size and get it signed by the various people at E3.

People of some actual importance than every dick and tom they attend.

Well, I’m moving in a few weeks, and am going to be dead broke after the move (aside from some pocket change to hopefully buy some peanut butter jellys), and the place is going to feel utterly empty until I get some furniture/decoration materials to fill it with. It would be awesome to have some stuff to fill the walls with from E3 (I’m a huge Bungie & SEGA fan among other things).

Could use some shirts to fill my closets as well, heh.

  45. 898
    on July 14, 2008 8:01 am

Signed stuff. Especially if its signed by someone who worked on what was signed.

  46. Beltaine
    on July 14, 2008 11:29 am

    3 things.

    1. A stick from a corn dog eaten by any Microsoft Game Studios employee.

    2. A bit of Ethernet cable cut from any booth at the show. Preferably a cable that was carrying data at the time it was cut.

    3. A photo of any booth babe or person dressed up as a video game character either eating a corn dog
or holding the bit of Ethernet cable and doing their best “Oops, did I do that!?” pose.

  47. jester1983
    on July 14, 2008 11:43 am

    one word – ASHPD

    Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device

    (not really one word)

The valve booth’s gotta have a model on display to promote portal 2 or portal: still alive or whatever new portal games they’re creating.
