Superior E3 Coverage Requires Balls of Steel

by Chad Lakkis on July 13, 2008 at 6:26 pm

Our flights have landed, our bags have been unpacked into our respective hotel rooms, the laptops are out in full force (minus Emily’s which has shit the bed). She has assured me however, that she will force push her coverage onto the site, and I am not one to question the power of the force.

With no laptop to play with, Emily is instead killing time by squeezing in a few more hours of Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon on the Wii before she posts her review later this week. I was originally going to say “cranks out her review” but Emily would not allow it.

Andrew has designated himself our official E3 in-house laptop DJ. He is currently entertaining us all with his “awesome” music selection (if you consider Alisha Keys awesome). Being that I read out loud when I type, Andrew just signaled to me that I am “number one” in his book. I feel special.

Jon “Ripten TV” Zungre is sharing some of this “behind the scenes” Star Trek: Phase II photos. For those that don’t know, Jon recently played Chekov in a Hugo Award Nominated Star Trek web series. Jon requested that he and Mr. Sulu be beamed down to a local Wal-Mart to search for signs of life. Unfortunately, all they found was some semi fresh broccoli.

I have been impersonating Solid Snake (poorly) for the past 45 minutes (although the team tells me it’s been much longer) and will continue to do so until the urge passes. Not wanting to be the only one who wasn’t bearing gifts of some sort, I decided to share the following “motivational” video which I feel clearly illustrates the value of repetition and persistence.

Suddenly the urge to impersonate Snake has passed. Instead, the time between now and tomorrow’s Microsoft keynote shall be filled with the calming voice of Duke Nukem.

Well, the article was posted at 6:26 and you called me at 4:00 with your Snake impersonation, so yeah, it’s been a while.
