Tomoaki Iishiba, a US Army Captain stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington, was charged in a Seattle federal court for attempting to ship holographic night-vision firearm sights to Japan. Lishiba worked as a technical advisor on Metal Gear Solid.
The charging document states that Lishiba bought 60 EoTech 553 sights from OpticsPlanet of Northbrook Ill. The sights are $639 a piece, putting the package sent to Japan worth more than $38,000.
Lishibi has been relieved of duty within Army intelligence and is now working in operations pending results of a trial.
When asked to comment, Otacon had the following to say:
“Lishibi? Lishibi? Lishiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiibiiiiiiiii!!!???!!!”

Tomoaki or Tommy as we call him married my moms sister. Even though I do not know him very well on a personal level since they live halfway across the US. Upon the handful of times I have ever been in contact with him just by his presence you feel a sense of honor, pride, courage, and yes integrity. I am not here to say what he did was right or wrong but at least clear up some of the facts. He was born and lived in Tokyo until he was 18 and the people he was sending night vision goggles he knew and were for AIRSOFT. You make him out to be some kind of gun smuggler but in reality the only difference between being legal and illegal was paper work. Which he could have obtained easily but was a lazy choice that caused him what his built his entire life. I still have great respect for Captain Lishiba and nor do I think you care about any of this but I just wanted to set the record straight.
