If you change the time and date of your PS3 to a Wednesday or Sunday, it'll be 20% off at Drebin's shop in MGS4.

If you quit The End boss fight in MGS3 before killing him, move your clock forward a week, and then load back up again - you'll see that he's passed away from old age.

Real world time and MGS has been around for a while. This time it won't work.

Ps. I don't think the PS3 has been hacked yet, so pirated copies of PS3 games are yet to available. The only exploit is to share PSN games with upto 5 other users - but this is more an allowed feature than pirating.

You seem to be misunderstanding what pirating means. It is possible to modify your PS3 (or Xbox 360 or older consoles) to run copied games directly off of the hard drive or play illegally burned discs (which you can also download from the Internet and make yourself). The modding process is generally detectable if you attempt to go online with that console, and it simply refuses to let you do it. In that case, it would be impossible to get the super special update thing without a "real" copy of MGS4.

As for your comment "Syncing console time and PSN time has nothing to do with games?", I'm not sure what you are asking/saying. By changing the console's internal clock, you can access features that are real-world time-related. For example, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 on the Xbox had a real-time event calendar, so you could play a special Christmas event on Christmas, things of that nature. You also can change the date on your PS3 and see whose birthday it is in the Metal Gear universe. I was just saying that unlike some other features in certain games, changing your clock won't get this effect to trigger.

Given the two options, I would have to say that I'm on top of the modding scene (smiley face).

Oh wait, is he like saying there'll be MGS DLC in December and people who share it off other people will miss out? That's not exactly piracy, more of an exploit that Sony is already aware of.

360 version via PSN? How smart.
GameBlog.fr hasn't mentioned any pirated copies as far as I can tell.
And I don't know where the auther got the idea that there are playable pirated copies for PS3 let alone syncing with PSN. Syncing console time and PSN time has nothing to do with games?
Either Dan is on top of the underground PS3 scene or he has very little idea.
