Trophies Cause Uncharted Love Fest

by Patrick Steen on August 4, 2008 at 6:28 pm

The first PS3 disc-based game to support trophies is Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, surprising us all today with an earlier than expected 1.10 patch.  The trophy support has seen a rise of interest in one of 2007’s best games, causing many a PS3 owner to boot up the game and begin trophy hunting.

Now PS3 friend lists are littered with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune players, all attempting to acquire 48 trophies (full list can be found here) including the first allusive Platinum trophy for achieving all others. There’s now great incentive to hop into Uncharted and improve your PS3 rank.  This is especially true when getting a bronze trophy for your first discovered treasure is magnitudes easier than gaining the same for 100,000 pollen in PixelJunk Eden.

Is this the end of the begining for the PS3 trophy love fest, or is it the begining of the end for PS3 owner’s sanity.  Personally, I’d count your blessings that Uncharted was the first to be patched, instead of a lesser game, like…Lair.

    This made me very happy. Uncharted is one of the few PS3 games I own and I am always looking for an excuse to play it through again.

    paparapa: You’re joking right? Have you read my Uncharted review? Or my MGS4 review?

    erodrig: We happened to give Lair 4.9 and many a website followed suit. The quality of Uncharted far surpasses that of Lair.

    @paparapa

    I am guessing you are new here. Probably a good idea for you to actually read a few articles on the site before putting your foot in your mouth. Also wouldn’t be a bad idea for you to finish up the 4th grade as well.

    Chad :D

    I freakin’ love uncharted! I am actually looking forward to replaying the game and hoping that they come out with a sequel with improved graphics, (the smoke effects look a little weird to me as well as needing to improve mouth animation.) oh, yeah NO MORE QT EVENTS!

    besides that the game is truly one of the greats, especially if you are a movie buff.

    Cool, another reason to pick this one up when I finally get me that PS3.
