Still a Ghost of a Chance for Ghostbusters

No, this has nothing to do with the game or the movie, but who cares!

An article over at The Cut Scene hints that Sony Pictures, the IP owners of a certain Ghostbustin’ franchise, are still very much planning on releasing the Ghostbusters game, but… pretty much didn’t say anything but that.

The Cut Scene got into contact with a Sony representative of some kind (who could be their janitorial union leader for all I know) who stated that they are working “to evaluate various options surrounding the release of the ‘Ghostbusters’ video game.”

Yeah, good times.

They also make mention of the fact that next year (that’s 2009 if you’re not paying attention) is the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters, and that may factor into what Sony has planned for the title.  Officially, they state that “this has presented [Sony Pictures Consumer Products] with an opportunity to reevaluate the game release marketing strategy to potentially coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original film in ’09.”

So they may just be delaying the game for better timing, perhaps so the game release coincides with a re-release of the movies on DVD with new special features and commentaries.  I don’t know one way or another, but I am certainly keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn’t end up on Blizzard’s extensive cutting room floor next to StarCraft Ghost and that WarCraft adventure game.

Screw the game, let’s see more costumed models.

Yah, about that. While Activision dumped the game, they decided to hold on to the half naked Ghostbuster girls. Mind boggling isn’t it?

She can cross my stream any day.

I’m not sure what that means, but it seemed appropriate. And by appropriate i mean inappropriate.
