New Heavy Rain Images Pour In

by Patrick Steen on August 6, 2008 at 1:58 pm

The upcoming PlayStation 3 game Heavy Rain from acclaimed Fahrenheit and Omikron developers Quantic Dream, has been hidden from public eyes since 2006’s concept video. Since then we’ve only had glimpses of impressive facial close ups, but now we can bring you a little bit more…

…A zoomed out view of what looks like a new character in Heavy Rain, and new supposed gameplay shots of a motorbiker.  The visuals are certainly impressive and suggest the French developer might just succeed in their goal to create expressive and emotional videogame characters.

Quantic Dream are aiming to bring PS3 owners something new and exciting, by furthering the story and emotions of the characters during gameplay.  There are few details of what this gameplay will consist off, but consider us intrigued.  Check out the images in our gallery and if they don’t wow you, they certainly will in movement. You can read more about Heavy Rain and the type of game it will be at this link.

    that doesn’t look at all like the female character from the 2006 shots of heavy rain so I would say that is a new character or she has been heavily modified.

    Another tech demo? When will they start releasing stuff from the damned game!

    I wonder how much of the game will be a close up of a face….

    The game is a tech demo John…in that it will look very much like that…ie. up close characters, acting etc. PS. the video isn’t new.

    The game is a tech demo?

    Last I checked, we knew little to nothing on the game.

    It’ll look like a tech demo is what I meant. It’ll be like Indigo Prophecy - interactive movie, with adventure gameplay, dialogue puzzles etc…

    Hm.. digressing from that.. and I hate to be the one to bring this up.. will this come to 360?

    =/ Given their console history, it seems somewhat likely.

    I wonder how it plays like.
    I’ve always tied this with Alan Wake as the most similar counterpart(with no basis) but man,are they different for sure :D….can’t find anything that compares anyway.

    Anybody know Anything at all about the gameplay per se?

    Oh,Know I know why they mixed up in my mind;

    Play Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) to get an idea. Or even Omikron (David Bowie collaboration)

    God damn it I hate exclusives. Why can’t these dips stop hating on each other and just give us everything? The developers would be rich I tell you. RIIIIIICH!!! *sobs quietly as he mentally prepares to either save for a PS3 or give up on this title*
