A Heavy Update for Team Fortress 2

“Release early and often” is the established mantra the Valve team has set and continues to perpetuate as they update Team Fortress 2 with maps, modes, achievements, and weapon add-ons. This time? The Heavy.
Perhaps, “A Gatling Gun of Updates” would have been a more appropriate headline, since you can pretty much stuff a Gatling gun full of special update ammo into this particular iteration. The contents of the update will be spread throughout the rest of the week, taking a not very appreciated break for the weekend, and continuing on until next Tuesday.
Today, they released community map, cp_steel. As implied, the community map is generated by userbase, in this case, Jamie “Fishbus” Manson. Steel is described as “a complex Attack/Defense control point map” by the creators themselves. This will be followed by a new map for Payload mode, 5 maps for a new, yet to be named or detailed mode, and a ‘Meet the Team’ video, likely in the style of the previously released ‘Meet the (Insert class name here)’. Then comes the Heavy Class updates, following the format of previous class updates: 3 new weapons and 35 new achievements revolving around the Heavy.
I know that’s a lot to take in, guys, but it’s better to have information overload than lack of updates altogether. What’s more, it’s all free. It makes me almost gag at the mere sight of the Horse Armor pack for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, or even worse, paying for DLC that’s already on the disk (I’m looking at you Namco). But that’s another rant for another day.
Their “early and often” philosophy may, of course, not be as clear as day when you take into account the failed Half-Life 2 Episodes. To be specific, this is a failure in timeliness of the releases, not the quality of said releases. Left 4 Dead as well suffers from this, since it was originally announced in 2006 and still remains unreleased. But, such is the life of Valve, making great games and taking their sweet ass time with it.

Why is this listed under the 360 catagory? Last I heard we hadn’t gotten any of the class updates the pc version has got.
