Rare: Xbox Avatars Existed Before Miis

You know, I came up with the idea for those singing fish about a year before they hit stores. I’ll even show you the note in my high school notebook (”singing fish would be hella awesome”) to prove it. But well, someone came up with the idea too - and they had the money to make it. Same story here with Xbox Avatars, which everyone has called ripoffs of Nintendo’s Mii idea, but which Rare is claiming they came up with in the first place. Says Rare’s Lee Musgrave:
It was an idea that we had before Miis were a part of the gaming scene
Turns out Rare had been playing with the idea for a long time, and only when the revamped 360 Dashboard came into existence was there a place for it. Oh well. You’ll get the jump on them next time.

Don’t complain about yours being first if you never actually used it. it’s a waste of time.

Someday,we’ll be the avatars.
I bet next generation will have some kind of personal mapping a la facebreaker style.Real time Motion capture could be a bang online, though because of practical reasons they’ll probably come up with something like ultrasounds to determine our position.Much cheaper, much comfortable.

avatars, mii’s, they are all a stupid waste of time. they just interfere with getting to what I bought the console for in the first place….TO PLAY GAMES!!!!
